Pug 605 Heater Panel Inop

Hi, my mum has a 605 2.0D Turbo and the heater panel controls are completely inop, checked the fuses and they are fine, not a clue why but it will work when the code for the immobilizer is messed up, i.e wrong code first time etc. We know the panel does work sometimes when this happens so whats going on?
Help if you can please
Thanks for your time
Rob

It definitely sounds like the electrical part of your ignition isn't working properly. When you turn the key, the lck and tumbler turns on the ign. switch in which sends power to the rest of the car.

SOURCE: I have a peugeot 406 year 2002 diesel, the heater

I can't really help you but can give you a suggestion.Check the cabin fuse box and it is normally stated the types of fuses on the cover of fuse box. Otherwise check every single fuse and replace the defective one with a similar ampere rating.

Some things it could be but not specific to your vehicle.
Do you smell antifreeze? Engine temps running hot? Has it run hot?
No antifreeze in radiator, when cold take radiator cap off and look to see if it is full. add as needed in radiator and overflow container.
Heater control valve not working properly or inop.
Clogged heater core. Leaking heater core-heater core bypassed.
Heater box door not operating properly or inop.
Vacuum leaks or broken lines/cables.
Intake manifold leaks
Clogged radiator
Could be many things, checks/tests need to be performed to determine the cause either by you or a certified repair shop.

If you want to leave the heater inop the best way is to go under the dash you probably have to remove the cover under the glove cpmpartment
Locate the fan motor and unplugged

Heater selector and speedometer not working. Are they related? Fuse, bus box? Computer?

Two separate problems. If the speedo is inop,, check connections at the transmission and at the back of the instrument cluster. If they are fine, replace instrument cluster.
If the heater is not operating, check power and grounds, the in/output of the control switches. Generally the control unit in the dash is faulty.

There is a 30 amp fuse for the blower. The blower motor resistor could be bad.
