It is either a bad break caliper or break hose.. The ruber break line connected to the caliper..
But - More than likely - its a caliper..
To see which wheel is locking - jack up each one to see whitch one is locking..

Have a great day !

Well, simply put it sounds like your brake pads may have frozen into the calipers. Also, rear calipers on the L series are known for seizing up. It's imperative with this line of car to have your calipers taken apart and serviced every six months, or at least once a year, otherwise they seize up and require replacement.

If it feels like it "wants" to go then give it some gas and see if you can break the brakes free. Be careful not to hit anything! Like don't have someone stand in front of the car or behind it, or if there's a car in front or behind then don't go towards it!

If it doesn't feel like anything is happening at all other than the engine revving (takes some common sense here) then it's nothing to do with the brakes and you need to clarify the problem better. Like can you push it by hand in neutral? Or whatever other info you can provide.

Sounds like seized calipers though. So get your checkbook ready cuz even if you do it yourself it's not gonna be cheap. Bring the old calipers with you when you buy your new ones, they will want the old ones for cores. There will likely be a steep charge for them if you don't bring them.

Good luck, and happy trails!

If I get my brakes inspected on my 1999 Saturn- what could be wrong with my brakes if the front squeaks when I break?

Usually there is a shim between the pad and piston, it may not have been installed last time the brakes were done.
Or brakecdust build up can cause this, must be cleaned with thinners.

Why does my 1999 Saturn squeak when I brake?

There are two likely causes, one is dirty brakes. Dust from the road and the pads gets behind the pads and causes squeaking. The other is a wear indicator that squeaks to inform you that you need to have them serviced. The only way to tell is to inspect the brakes.

Brakes lock on ice, snow, rain, and high temperatures

Sounds like your Anti lock brake valve is not functioning right. The bad thing is that it has to be serviced by a technician. When they lock up is there any lights on the dash that light up like something that says anti-lock?

Wheel Covers on 2008 Saturn Aura

As all Saturn Auras have four wheel disc brakes, I'll assume that you are referring to the rotor and/or caliper. The rotor is is a shiny disc that is a few inches smaller in diameter than your wheel. The caliper is a cast metal part with dull finish that rides on top of the disc.
You can relax, they didn't leave anything off. The wheel cover and wheel are a five spoke design that is meant to show these off. You're having a common reaction after auto repair: hypersensitivity.
As for the tire pressure, to confirm that the tires are losing air, set the pressure to the PSI on the label on the drivers door when the tires are cold (sitting all night or not driven very far). Check the pressures again after the car has been sitting for a long time. Again, morning is best. If you are losing pressure in one or more tire, take it to a professional for inspection. The problem could be as simple as a leaky valve.
