You first pop off the ignition ring (black part) then take off the center dash trim around the radio (grey plastic) un plug the lighter remove two 5/16 screws that hold the radio in slide the radio out and you can access the harness and switch there.

My 2008 Chevy Malibu won't go into park and I can't take the keys out of the ignition.

There is a problem in the shift linkage or internally in the transmission.
Needs further diagnostics.

if i remember correctly the colum cover needs to come off and there should be two screws ned to come out and switch should come off. unplug electrical connector.

Ignition and Transmisssion Locked on 2000 Chevy Malibu

I had a similar problem on a 2001 GM product. The problems all stemmed from a worn out key. Keys are made from softer metals so that they wear out before the expensive cylinder does. Debris had collected in the cylinder preventing ANY key from turning it - corrected that with compressed air. Replaced the key at the dealer by providing the VIN and my ID w/registration - $10.00. Kept the old keys because they still worked for opening the trunk. Try it, I bet your symptoms and fix actions are very similar, at least, I hope so. Regards.
