You either have accessory lights that are left on, or there is a short in the electrical system.

After new battery put in, battery is dead in a few days.

When you shut down the car some circuit in the car is using current at an excessive rate so as to drain the battery. To repair you need to locate the source of drain. You can do this by connecting an ammeter to the car battery and while the car is turned off monitor the amperage reading. You will see a draw. Then pull fuses, one at a time, till you see the drain virtually disappear. Now you have identified the circuit that is responsible for draining your battery. If you cannot fix it, at least you know where the hassle is and you can always pull that fuse when you leave the car unattended for a few days so that the battery is not drained. If getting to the fuse is a hassle you can always replace the fuse with some wiring and a switch that you place in the glove box and all you do is turn the switch off when you remove the key. Presto - cheap fix!!!!!!

My 1996 grand cherakee lardo grans the battery

the Grand grans? LOL ! sure, cell phones suck. for typing,.

my guess, the Battery drains dead, parked. ?
ok there are only 2 causes.
1: as always bad batteries can do that.... (i use test battery from on other car, unless new $125 batteries are cheap to you.
or charge IT , and and use my load tester.
$20 at Harbor FRIGHT(pun)

2: or is phantom drain,
here is page that covers all ways to find a drain.

if car battery drains driving, check the charging system.
but you said parked, which means keys in pocket.

Battery drains on 1989 Buick Electra. New Battery and New Alt. No lights staying on In the hood, glove box, truck or inside. What could cause this?

Its hard to say really it could be a number of things.

From my experience, id almost always go tot he power antenna first. This things always break stick bind etc and when they do they cause a nasty battery drain.

Car won't start ?the lights are dim inside the car the car, brandnew battery,if it sits for 8hrs. it will not start. If i get a jump it will start right up with full power!

it really sounds like you have something draining your battery, in addition, the alternator is not properly charging your battery, this could be due to a defective belt or loose belt or a short or break in the charging circuit, Good Luck and I hope this helped!

1986 toyota 4 runner battery

"it always dies if it dont drive it for 3 days or more,"

Sounds like you have a constant drain on your battery -- when engine is off the drain kills the battery. That cause is almost always very difficult to find.

" wondering if there is a specific battery I should be looking for"

In terms of the type battery, no kind is going to withstand a constant drain (if you have one) -- I'd just get whatever battery they look up at the parts store.
