Question about 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer

1 Answer

IDLE problems when I turn on the AC. Electrical power seems to fluctuates when the car is stop sign/light or other when i have the AC on. Check it the other day, started it up, disconnected the battery, car was still running so the ALT was good and when i put the AC on..shut completely off. Has to be something with the AC. The truck has 87k on mile, any ideas?

Alternator needs good battery to keep SCR in the regulator on if it is loaded it will shut down. this will happen when you try rolling window down or rear defog will load up the system. When the truck is running and battery is hooked up the vehicle should run at @700 RPM at idle and when A/C compressor is commended on it should idle up to @1000 RPM and then back down to @700 RPM when compressor cycle off again. But if the system almost stalls then the battery and alternator should be changed together, A bad battery will damage a new alternator and a bad alternator will damage a new battery.

That is pretty much normal. When the AC engages it's compressor it triggers the idle sensor to increase idle to compensate for the huge load that an AC unit puts on a vehicle. If your AC is producing cold air, approx. 40 degrees on high, then it should be ok. Power loss is all part of the program with AC. It takes much more noticeable power to run an AC unit on a vehicle, and especially a 4 cylinder. Ever see your house lights dim a bit when you turn on the Home AC central air? :.) Every item under your hood connected to your engine steals power from the engine. The AC is the king of all takers of power.

2002 escape 3.0 idle fluctuates and misfires when driving

No such thing as a tune-up

All you did was replace spark plugs which should be
done every 3 years

Oxygen Sensors get replaced at 100,000 miles which you
also did

You most likely have an intake gasket leak, smoke test
the entire Evap System & Engine

You also are have bad igniton coils

How do adjust the idle on a ford escape 2001 xlt v6 model Well the car doesn't move when you let the brake go until you push the gas. When i turn my heat or ac on the power starts acting up like the radio...

It sounds like your alternator or battery is beginning to fail. An alternator may provide enough power at idle when there is a low power load. Once you activate the heat or AC, the load is too much for a defective alternator to support.

Adjusting the idle is not the solution. Not only will it mask the electrical problem, it will prevent you from stopping your vehicle safely.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Check engine light coming on off and on, seems to

The harmoic balancer is located on the end of the crankshaft. This shaft is the largest shft in the engine and should be the one where all belts eventually run thru/over it. Check it out, let me know.
