It sounds like you have a exhaust system so 1st start engine and put your hand over the tail pipe hard and it should blow your hand off if the exhaust is good but if it dosent then its got a .hole.blown gasket or converter is no good.
Or it could be the gearbox roar and thats big money so lets hope its exhaust ..
Let me know how you go Ron

When driving my 2000 Olds Bravada, it has a loud roar noise that sounds like when a semi truck is taking off before the gears are shifted. Transmission shifts easily into gears, just this loud roar noise...

If there's a loud roaring noise all the time, then your muffler probably has a hole in it, time to get a new full or partial exhaust pipe.

If the noise goes when it changes gear, then you've probably got a gear box or thrust bearing problem.

Not-too-loud roar sounding

could be a wheel bearing. get the car up where you can spin the wheel, now grab the strut spring with your hand and spin the wheel. you will be able to feel "roughness" on the wheel that has a bad bearing.

Loud roaring

Well i always liked LOUD CARS. But seriously maybe it is low on a resource. check the resources and if they are ok then maybe something has burnt out, in this case tak it to a mechanic and have it checked out by them to see what to do

Loud roaring sound in front right wheel area.

Loud roaring sound in front right wheel area. It sounds like my front driver wheel is flat and hitting metal..I had tires checked they are fine. It sounds like clunk, clunk and clunk..
