The drain in the airbox which allows the condensation from the evap core to drain is stopped up with leaves or dirt. The easiest way to unplug this drain is to take it to a repair shop and have them blow it out with compressed air. To avoid this problem after drain is unpluged, is to run the A/C on recurculated air setting.

I am getting water on the passenger side floorboard

Water or coolant? Coolant (if you have the correct 50/50 ratio of water and antifreeze) will have a distinctive smell.
If it's coolant that's getting on the passenger side floorboard, you probably have a leak in your heater core.
If it's water, it may be condensation from your a/c evaporator - there's a drain that should allow the condensate out of the HVAC box, but if it's plugged, the water will come inside. The other possibility if it's water is that there is a leak around a window seal, windshield, sunroof, possibly the door window.

What is causing water to leak down onto the passenger side floorboard of my 2004 Mazda 6 wagon when I have AC on?

Feel the water and smell it. If it smells sweet and fells oily, is is coolant. If is isn't oily and has no real smell, it is water. There is a tray under the evaporator and heater cores that catches water/coolant and drains it via a tube thru the firewall to the outside of the car. This tube is probably clogged and needs purged. If you have coolant on the floor, you'll need to replace the heater core. If it is water, purging the hose will solve the problem as the water is just condensation from the AC coils

Water leaking onto passenger side floorboard, soaking the carpet

Your heater core has developed a leak - the wetness on the passenger side carpet is engine coolant
from a heater core leak, or a leak in one of the two hoses connected to the back of the heater core.
Your strategy: disassemble dash down to heater core, determine whether you'll need a new heater
core or new hose (or new hose clamp), then replace the offending part.

Water leaking into the floorboard.

Check to see if the water drain for the A/C system is plugged.
Look under the vehicle for a drain tube just ahead of the passengers feet.
Try to clear it.
Watch out for a flow of water if you do clear it!
Do not push higher into the drain than is needed to clear it.

If the heater core was leaking you would have antifreeze on the floor....not water.
Yes,the coolant would go down if the heater core was leaking.

Sounds like the heater core has a leak. When you get low on coolant, the temp gauge will start to fluctuate.

Water on floor board on passenger side of 1991 Buick Century

Engine coolant will feel oily and the windshield will fog up and the car will stink. If it is just water it could be coming from the passenger door weatherstrip at top. The ac drain tube , if stopped up will also leak water in the floorboard.
