Which year? Most come out from the front of the dash. In most cases If you remove the trim from around the radio you should see the primary mounting screws. There will also be one nut retaining the back of the radio to a bracket. If vehicle has airbag- use caution and disconnect battery first. Let it sit for a minute or two before working on the dash.
There are two screw at the bottom of the black plastic trim panel around the radio. Remove the screws and pull the trim panel back. Remove the four screws around the radio, unplug the wires on the back of the radio and you are finished!
your front trim plate that goes around dash from drivers sidde to radio just snaps off use a flathead screw driver to pry. put shifter all the way down in 1 to gain clearance. 7 mm screws hold the radio in place remove disconnect wires and go
most chrysler radios except the infinity series are interchangeable.
the infinity had a power amplifier .
best thing, remove the trim plate from around the radio with a flat blade.there is 4 bolts holding the radio in.remove the radio plugs on the back for antenna, speakers, and power ...take that to a wrecker, and see if the cd deck looks and works the same.they may even let you try it first...
cd player is probably shot at that point. if its a newer grand am, like 02 on up - this is how to take the dash apart and replace cd player -
theres a trim piece around the cd player and climate control knobs. check all around this trim piece for screws. if none, its held in by pressure clips. just pull firmly but gently and evenly and it will pop off without breaking. there are 3 bolts holding the cd player in place. 9/32 is the size for a socket. after that you pull the cd player out. unplug the harness and the antenna.
this is very important - an old standard gm wire harness to aftermarket radio WILL NOT work on this vehicle. you need a special gm harness that costs around $100. replaces door chime and prevents failure of a LOT of other options. its a long story, but trust me you need it. also an antenna adapter to go from gm's 'mini' size antenna to a standard. add a mount kit for the radio and you're lookin at $150 in parts before u even buy a radio.
dash reassembly is obviously just the reverse order of what was listed above.
hope this helps.

remove ash tray one screw behind there, then remove top dash panel that
goes from end to end across dash this just snaps off pull upward to
remove you will see 2 screws on top of trim around radio remove these 2
and then dash trim will pull off pull straight back then radio can be
removed should be held in by 2 10mm bolts, this should cover 80% of the
radios (important TIP) if it still doesn't come out the trick is some
of the wranglers have an extra security bar on stock cd players only
you will see 2 more 10mm bolt on the top of the dash where you removed
the 2 screws from earlier these hold a bracket that is mounted to the
back of the cd player once they are unbolted you can remove the radio
it takes some pulling and tweaking of the brackets but it will come out
