Question about Chevrolet Blazer

I have a 2001 Blazer and the oil pressure is low. I've changed the sensor and the gauge and the oil pump what can i do now

    yes the tube was tight. and yes the strainer was cleaned. it has nearly 140,000 miles and no it's not using oil

    Did you clean the strainer when you changed the oil pump, and was the tube good and tight when you installed it? Is the engine using oil? How many miles on it?

Worry about the cam brgs. How low is the pressure?

    "O"psi Tap into the dending unit port and confirm if have not done so already.It sounds like you know what your doing so I am assuming that what you are doing is done correctly and accurately.

    The oil pump haas been replaced so the pressure relief valve is not the problem. Is the oil pump drive shaft in place and rotating the pump? It's the shaftt the dristributor is matched up with. It should be because you changed the pump, correct? I've forgotten that puppy once before myself. The thing is, is thaat the oil is routed up to the port next to the distributor and then to the cam brgs.. The cam brgs actually control the oil pressure.. The lifters also have influence but they would clatter like heck if they go no oil. which they are probably doing now, right? Was this engine just assemble? over overhauled? If so, There are three small soft plugs at the end of the the oil galleys behind the cam gear. They are often replace with allen screw plugs after being threaded during a rebuild.. If they have not be modified to threaded plugs then ther is a possibility one or, may 2 of them have blown out. Zero pressure means a direct and unrestricted dump occuring. or the pump is not being driven. There is two things to be concerned with. The rod and mains bearings fail before they wood affect the oil pressure in a manner such *** what we have here. Chk the distributor drive to the pump by pulling the distributor and looking in the hole to verify the rod is there. Hopefully it's not so we can stop there. The computing system on your vehicle has no safe mode for running low on oil . The only thing that will happen is the check gauges light will come on.
The oil pressure gauge is an analog device that is located in the IPC. The oil pressure gauge is operated directly by the oil pressure sensor circuit. As the engine oil pressure changes, the resistance of the sensor and the current flow in the oil pressure gauge changes. The current flow in the oil pressure gauge causes the needle to move in order to appropriately display the engine oil pressure. A sensor resistance of 1ohms will display as 0 kPa (0 PSI) and a resistance of 88 ohms will display as 80 kPa (80 PSI ). The IPC also monitors the oil pressure sensor circuit and interprets the current flow in this circuit in order to determine when the engine oil pressure is too low. If the oil pressure is too low, the check gauges tell tale will turn on. The oil pressure sender is located on the left side of the 2.2L. The 4.3L engine, oil pressure sender is located at the top left side, near the distributor/high voltage switch.
Try disconnecting the battery cables an hold them together for ten minutes , reset ECM !

2001 Eclipse 2.4 Liter, when RPM go below 1200, oil light comes on. Changed oil pressure sensor/switch. Other ideas?

If your oil is clean and not sludged up where it restricts oil passages, then your low oil pressure may be caused by worn crankshaft bearings. Does it burn any oil? Lotta miles?
You need to know the true oil pressure reading. Have it checked with a gauge and go from there. Your oil pump may need replacing, or sometimes a good top oil treatment may clear out the passages and restore oil pressure. Good luck.

2.8l v6 in a s10 blazer. no head gasket problems thus far. wondering why my oil pressure gauge fluxuates? minor rpm change while oil pres guage does its thing why?

Oil pressure always changes with rpm.
At idle you should have around 10 psi, and it should max out at high rpm around 50 psi or so.
You not only can't have as much pressure at idle, but you don't need it either.

How do i replace oil pump on a 2001 vw beetle?

Depends on what engine you have.
All engines require the pan removal first.
The 4 cylinder then has a pickup tube to remove, a windage tray, and then 2 bolts hold the pump on.
The 6 cylinder is more complex, with an output tube, more complex cover, etc.
Both have O rings to replace.

But I rarely see oil pumps go bad.
If you have low oil pressure, it could be the relief valve, but what I would suggest is screwing a mechanical gauge into one of the oil pressure switch fittings.
Worn connecting rod bearings are the most common cause of low oil pressure.
So if you have the pan off, check rod bearing looseness.
It is easy to replace rod bearings if no damage has been done to the crank yet.

The oil pump is inside the oil pan.The oil pan needs to be removed to get at it.Why do you need to get at the oil pump?They are a component that is usually problem free.If your gauge is showing low oil pressure you likely just need a oil pressure sensor.

My 1990 S 10 blazer is having problems with the oil pressure. it will not keep the pressure up on it I have change the sensor and it still goes down causing the motor to shut off

First check the oil pressure with a gauge screwed directly into the hole where the sensor is screwed in. If it is good than change the fuel pump cut off switch, this is the one that turns the fuel pump off in the event of an accident. If the oil pressure is indeed low you need to look at the mileage and service record of the car, maybe an oil pump replacement would help, but if engine wear is the culprit an overhaul will be the only cure.

Tryin to find low oil preesure problem before having to replace oil pump already replaced oil sending unit and gauge

need to find out the pressure the pump is putting out hook up a mechanical pressure gauge most use the sensor port to hook into and test pressure if pressure good than u may have a sludge problem where a flush might help-if pressure low possible clogging [sludge build up] of oil screen-[which a flush or back blow-compressed air -to clear or clean pick up tube and screen should help ]--or internal engine problem or oil pump bad

does the oil pressure gauge show low oil pressure?is it low oil pressure light? or low oil light? 2 sensors on this vehicle.make sure you get a chevrolet oil sensor,aftermarket sensor do not do well,make sure your using 5w30 or 10w30 wieght oil,if you are putting out over 20 lbs at idle in gear,i see no problem,should go up to 40 or better on accel,if it is low oil pressure and the gauge conferms,possible engine wear

In my 02' Trailblazer oil pressure gauge goes below 0

I have this same problem with my 2002 trailblazer; however, I goofed up and had a mechanic look at it, since I was perplexed as to what was going on with it. He told me the oil pump needed replacing and it ended up costing me around a $950. Needless to say, it still happens. A grand down the drain - it wasn't the oil pump. The oil level is always good. This generally occurs when I've run the vehicle for a while and then come to a stop. It occurs quite often during the spring/summer and doesn't happen all that much during colder months.

start by testing your oil pressure sensor, and then if not that drop your oil pan and the screen on your oil pump tube may be restricted. or change the oil pump could be weak
