1.Remove the Headlight Bezel. (Two screws go down on each side on the bottom, two screws go up in the top on each side)

2.Remove the Retaining Ring screws, and the Retaining Ring. DO NOT disturb the adjustment screws!
The Retaining Ring screws are the two screws at the top on each corner, and bottom on each corner.

The screw in the top Middle, bottom Middle, and on each side, in the Middle, are the Adjustment screws.

I advise using a pair of gloves if these bulbs are stuck, and 'stubborn'. May be going over the top with safety advice, but I would rather that you be safe, than worry about my seeming like a 'Worry-Wort'.

You may encounter, that the three prong plug on the back of the headlamp, is also hard to remove. Corrosion can develop in this area very easily.

I advise wiggling the plug back and forth a little, as you try to remove it.

On a 99 chevy silverado if equipped with auto headlamps there is a sensor on the dash near the front center of dash a small black bubble. If it is covered it will cause the lights to stay on. The day time running lights are typically seperate from the head lamps

01 Chevy Silverado 4 X 4 not working. 4WD light

Having the same exact problem but with my 1999 escalade. Thought it was the actuator bought a new one installed it transfer case would engage but front end wouldnt lock. Took it out of housing left it plugged in got a friend to go through all the 4wd for me and the plunger never moved out the actuator. Checked my wiring harness which is a four prong ann it had one hot prong like it is suppose to. Traced wires even replaced dash switch same problem. Taking it to local dealership tom to have it checked for codes. I was told it could be the transfercase actuator even though its workin that actuator is what sends power to the front to engage the actuator to lock the differential.

99 chevy auto lamp problem

WHAT YOU MIGHT CHECK IS THE FUSE FOR TAILLIGHTS, OR DASH LIGHTS. THEY WORK OFF THE SAME FUSE. IF THE FUSE IS BLOWN THE HEADLIGHTS WORK BUT NO TAIL OR DASH LIGHTS

open the tailgate there should be 2 screws at the edge then the tail light will pop out then there are 2 hex head screws that hold the printed circut board to the lense, remove this and the bulbs are on the board.
