It fans! Kidding. Ok, that psrt in the middle is the clutch. It is a viscous/fluid that expands as it gets hot. In doing do it forces the fan blades to keep up eith the shaft it is attached to. Of course it then pulls more air through the radiator for cooling. At higher speeds, above 35 miles per hour the fan becomes in effective due to vehicle speed forcing air through the radiator. The fluid in the fan hub cools and the fan is left to freewheel in turn taking away the fans parasitical load. That's what it does. If you are overheating, The fan is only to blame at low speeds. If you overheat over 35, Chances are real good your thermostat is acting up. Good Luck and quit spinning the fan! :)

When driving cluch goes in when driving the reves

Sounds like you need a new clutch. At a stand still put the car in third and try to get it to move. If you don't stall out you need a new clutch.

How do i jumpstart my 2006 xl7?

tcool316...All depends! If it is a standard transmission; Put the car in 2nd gear, the ignition on, clutch depressed get a friend or two or three to push the car. Once you are rolling release the clutch. It will start. Then quickly put the cluch down put it in neutral and thak God it started. If it is an automatic transmission I'de tell you but I think it would be better if you just baught a new starter motor.

Hope it helps?

the radiator fan is mounted to the clutch, in other words remove the bolts / nuts that is holding the fan assembly to the water pump usually just four nuts once you pull the fan assembly the part that yo seperated from the water pump is the clutch, now remove the fan blades and mount thm on the new clutch assembly the piece which mounts tt the water ump is the fan clutch
