Possible plugged heater core. Check heater hoses when engine at operating temperature. Both hoses should be close to the same temperature. If one hot and one warm/cold, suspect a plugged heater core. A backflush will be required to correct the problem if it is plugged

Cant find the block heater cord

need more info, what year, make, model, engineering. just because the owners manual says.there is a block heater, that doesn't mean you have one look around, try to find a short power cord that you would plug into a extension cord, also look at the engine block, look.at all your freeze plugs, this is where most block heaters go, if you do not see anything in.any of the freeze plugs, then.you do not have one the other kind of engine heater, would be in the top or bottom radiator hoses, or even.heat core hoses, again.there would be.a.cord.to.plug into. most of the time, they would pull the cord up to the front, by the grill, so you can plug it in

I am trying to install a block heater because I am heading north to Alberta.

Block heaters are installed in place of one of your freeze plugs on the engine. Drain the coolant and knock out a freeze plug to install. Directions are included with the block heater, including usually which freeze plug to put the heater in, and the orientation of the heater in the freeze plug hole.

Are there freeze plugs on a 2005 Chevy Equinox? We had a hard freeze last night and now the heater doesn't work.

Freeze plugs are actually Core plugs for the block to get the sand out when casting the engine block from cast iron. They actually have nothing to do with freezing, or the heater. What do you mean by "doesnt work" ??? doesnt blow at all? doesnt blow hot?

How to install a block heater on a chevy trailblazer?

First check and see if there is a pouch located directly beside your battery. If there is a pouch it will contain a plug that is for the factory engine block heater. If there is no plug then you can pursue an aftermarket type.

There are several types. If you want to use a freeze plug block heater, you'll need to have someone help you remove a freeze plug. That usually requires that you remove a lot of the peripheral equipment until you can get a clear access to one of the freeze plugs. Measure the freeze plug then go to an auto parts store and purchase a freeze plug block heater of that specific size. Once you have one that will fit into the hole, you can drill a hole in the freeze plug, then use a prying instrument to remove the old freeze plug. The block heater freeze plug usually goes in with a nut to tighten the freeze plug into the hole.

BTW, you'll get a lot of antifreeze all over when you do this, and plan on taking your time since it will be time consuming.

Where can i find the plug from my block heater in my 1997 chevs10

not all s-10 came with a block heater. the plug is on the end of a long extension cable, should be on either side of the block. if you can't find it, it most likely doesn't have one. you can install one, just by the kit from your local GM parts department, raise the vehicle in the air, remove a freeze plug & install the block heater where the freeze plug was.
its not an easy job.

How do you install a block heater on a chevy aveo 2006?

A block heater is installed in one of the freeze plug ports in your block. Drain your cooling system. Then drill a small hole i the center of the freeze plug and screw a self tapping screw into the hole. You can the use a claw hammer or something similar to pull the freeze plug. Then you just install the block heater in the freeze plug's place. Refill your cooling system and let it get up to full temperature checking carefully for leaks. Please rate my answer.

Were are freeze plugs located on chevy venture

as on any engine the freeze plugs are located along the sides of the lower engine block They look like large 1/2" to 1" brass or silver concave disks pressed into the engine block. They protect the block from cracking by poping out when the block coolant freezes.

2006 Chevy Trailblazer Water Pump

lol i just did this its a lot of work but if you want to do it you have to drain the fluids then remove the radiator and the fans then then undo the sur. belt after that you have to use a 3 way puller (inside puller) after that you take off the block cover then mark the timing belt on all 3 gears ( very criticale that the belt gets back in same spot so mark the noch of the belt and the noch of the gear both if not done right you could send a piston rod thrue your block the your car is dead) loosen the timing belt and the remove the 3 bolt to the water pump in the top middle the put the new one in and put everything back together have any ? let me know on Scoobydoousa23@gmail.com
