The relay is faulty. the owners manual should tell where it is located. You can check any relay with an ohmmeter. You can google ebooks to view free chilton repair manuals.

My car is doing this same thing at this exact moment. I had to remove the fuse to stop it and I took it to my local Saab dealer. They told me it is the fan control module.

If you look carefully you might find a shorted switch on the dash, Or a shorted wire on the heater blower motor. Or the heater blower resistor has malfunctioned.

Nissan altima 1996, cabin fan blower switch works without the ignition key. If I forget to turn off the fan control switch it drains all battery.

Either the blower switch wiring has been altered, or you have a short to power in that circuit. The dash controls are not supposed to have power without the key. Are there any other functions that stay on with the key off? Stereo? turn signals? This would indicate a problem in the ignition switch, which is where all power must go through first.

Cooling fan runs continuously, even after shutting the ignition off

sounds like it could be a relay.

With everything plugged in and the fans running with the key off remove the cooling fan 1 fuse. Do they stop?

If they do not stop remove the cooling fan 2 fuse. Do they stop?

Fans wont shut off when ignition is off 99 prelude

Some cars are designed to allow the fans to run even with the key off until the engine and radiator cool down. If it continues to run after 19-15 minutes you may have a sticking fan relay, usually located in the fuse box in the engine compartment, just replace it and it should take care of your problem

I have a 1995 Mercury Sable GS, recently, when we turn off the key, the cooling fan continues to run. I have replaced the fan over a year ago, and have had other work done to it. according to the manual,...

under the hood there are two 30 amp relays, one is for the fan the other is for the a/c fan, swap them and see if corrects the problem, if it does then the relay is bad. Hope this helped Tim

When I turn my car off the air conditioner still runs-I needed a jump the other day because it ran all night and wore the battery down.

OK, if the relay for the A/C fan is bad, then the radiator's fan will keep running after turning off the ignition. Also, if the fan for ventilation of the A/C in the cabin stays on after the ignition is turned off, the relay for that is bad.

Good luck on this repair.
