Question about 2001 Chevrolet Impala
I have a 2001 ls chevy impala and its seems everytime you go to take off the traction active light comes on and abs light comes on too. what would cause this to happen? what would cause traction active light come on ,when take off on non slippery surface?
I have had this problem since about 6 months after i bought my 2001 impala. the problem is in the hubs. the wireing that runs throw them rubs together and eventually shorts the traction and abs. easy solution to fix it though. get into the hubs and wrap the wires. otherwise take the car in and explain the problem to them and exactly what you need done. 9-10 times they won't fix the problem unless you tell them what you want done. it is really simple and going to the dealer should only cost you about 100 to fix.

Just because it is a non slippery surface does not mean your wheels can't break traction. if the abs light and traction active light do not stay on continuously afterwards, i would not worry about it. if they stay on for a long while after you break traction or take off, i would consult a local mechanic or dealership with access to a diagnostic scanner
