SOURCE: 87 cadillac has starting problem after sitting for

I believe that car still had the modified version of the Quadrajet carb on it. They are noted for having fuel bowl bottom plug leaks. In that case, the fuel is not going into the tank, but draining into the intake manifold. To fix that, the carb needs to be removed and a good fuel proof epoxy needs to be put over the plugs to seal them off.
It's been a while and I cannot remember if the base plate needs to be removed to do this but I don't think so.

SOURCE: This car will not start. The fuel is not getting through. It tries to turn over but won't. The fuel pump is working fine. I'm considering replacing the carburetor and/or all of the fuel injectors.

But did you actually test fuel pressure at key on? If not, how do you know the pump is working fine? Just because it runs, does not mean it is ok.

My 94 isuzu pickup bogz down once it warmz up

It could be something as simple as a plugged fuel filter, fuel injectors (if so equipped) , or carburetor; perhaps the coil is going; maybe the fuel pump is going- check the fuel pressure, other areas to check- the engine/spark timing, could be off; or perhaps a blown head gasket; vacuum leak, defective sensors etc.

2003 Grand Marquis won't start

Check the fuel pump and replace the fuel filter, dump some fuel injector cleaner in there. Take the air cleaner cover off, replace the air filter, clean and prime the carburetor with gas. If it still won't start, you've probably got a carburetor issue or a fuel line blockage.

Just changed the fuel filter on my navara D40 dual cab started it, ran for 5 seconds and won't start again. Have pumped the top on the filter for ages. HELP

check if there is bleed screw on the pump and if so bleed there while pumping the filter pump. Next loosen off the injector line nuts and crank over until you see fuel droplets at the nuts . keep cranking as you tighten up the nuts and it should go. Diesels not starting after filter changes ( or running out of fuel) is a result of air in the system / pump/ injectors.

Sometimes my car starts and sometimes it does not. everything is on in my car but engine won"t turn over. i let it sit for a long period of time and it starts. what could be worg with it?

The first thing I'd suspect would be the distributor cap & rotor, but my 2003 PT Cruiser manual says:

1 - Inspect Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator --- Faulty Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator.
2 - Inspect Carburetor Float --- Faulty Choke Float.
3 - Inspect Choke Pulloff --- Faulty Choke Pulloff.
4 - Inspect Choke Thermostat --- Stuck or Improperly Functioning Choke Thermostat.
5 - Inspect Fuel Injector Cold Start Valve --- Damaged or Faulty Cold Start Valve.
6 - Inspect Spark Plugs --- Fouled Spark Plugs.
7 - Inspect Relay - Fuel Pump --- Faulty Fuel Pump Relay.
8 - Inspect PCV Valve --- Plugged or Damaged PCV Valve.
9 - Inspect Carburetor --- Choke Not Operating.

Back fireing through carbarator will not start and vacume lines

this year of car has throttle body injection not a carburetor, the backfiring could be the fuel pump relay not allowing the pump to power up,or a plugged fuel filter,or a bad fuel injector,if their isn`t at least 15lbs fuel pressure the injectors will not open to spray fuel

My truck wont start, changed the starter and battery?

Check the fuel filter. A completely plugged fuel filter will stop your engine cold by choking off the flow of fuel to the carburetor or injectors. The engine may not start, or it may start, then stall and die. Next most common problem is the fuel pump failing. Most modern electric fuel pumps can be heard when you turn the key on. If you don't hear the pump running and your car will not start, it could be your fuel pump. The first thing a mechanic will check is the relay which sends power to the pump. If this is operating correctly then the pump will have to be replaced.

Just change the sparkplugs, overhauled the carburetor but still it is hard starting. My mechanic says i have to change my carburetor. is it right?

if your carburetor was overhauled correctly , no , you shouldn't have to change it. Are you sure your problem is fuel supply related? if so , hard starts are usually caused by the following : improper choke setting..a vacuum leak at the carburetor base or intake manifold or a hose ...a faulty accelerator pump ...low fuel pump pressure caused by a bad fuel pump or a clogged filter ....or too low of a gasoline float level in the carburetor.
