Check engine light can be any number of reasons, dirty air filter, need oil change, or more serious engine trouble. The temp gage issue is normal, this is the computer resetting itself. My car the fuel gage and temp gage do this...don't be alarmed. Take it to Advance Auto Parts and they can run a free engine diagnostics test on it to see which error code is tripping your check engine light.

Need input on engine code for engine temp staying low too long

Have you not googled your obd codes
& diagnosed them, to find a problem

No idea why you would do all you did

You always resolve code related issues first

The coolant temp should be 210 all the time

Sounds like your not looking at scan tool data
or following any factory trouble charts or actually
know what coolant temp is,your just assuming & not
doing the required testing to verify things

Have you checked your cooling fan to see if it is working propely? Let the car idle and get warm and listen for the fan to kick in (if they are electric) or just watch to see if the fan starts to spin faster if it is the old school type with a clutch. Have you replaced the thermostat? A bad one will let the temp rise since it opens too late and then the temp will drop off. But it won't due this only at a light and it will do it infrequently.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee temp gauge high when heat is on

If your "check engine" light is turn on, I suggest scanned the PCM to know exactly what fault code is stored there. Additionally, could be some problem with the "temp sending unit".

I would suspect either the temp guage or the coolant temperature sensor being inaccurate. The new thermostat is probably working good, or else you wouldn't have a very warm heater. If you have electric radiator fans, you might check to see if they are running all th time. Electric cooling fans should only come on when the temperature sensor reaches a predetermined coolant temp, or when the a/c or defroster is turned on. If the fan runs all the time, the engine would not reach normal operating temperature.

2005 trailblazer code 0126 checked reset didnt come back on yet'but dont show that code in my list

www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes insufficiant coolant temp for stable operation thats an uncommon one. unless u have no thermostat or to cool of one u shouldnt have that code again usualy comes on when a seensor is wrong, bad but not out of range for the computer to show coolant temp sensor. very uncommon. if it comes back on again then check ur sensor and wires also it may have just been ur thermostat stuck open. u may want to put a new one in it it runs cold. u should be able to tell by the gauge if ur temp is ok. most gm engines have two sensors. one for the computer and one for the gauge. not always though.

the first thing to try is turning the heater upto full heat(a/c off)if the temp guage goes down THEN CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT...(hot oil,if too hot, is thinner than the normal sae rating so the oil pressure will be lower.otherwise no real problem.

Coolant sensor may be the problem. It is located near the thermostat housing. It may be sticking between modes & not operating properly. Also make sure coolant is circulating in system.
