Question about 2005 Chevrolet Silverado
I had the same problem with my truck like yours. Took it to the dealer and the tech acted as if it were no big deal. He said it is the Intermediary shaft which is part of the steering column. He said that the grease leaks out and allows the joints to bang around in there but there is nothing to worry about. It sounds bad but there is nothing mechanically wrong and as some have said, won't break and cause you to lose control. Mine has been doing this for about a year and half now and I have yet to lose control.
Hope this helps.
