Try turning steering wheel a bit, or move shifter up past park. Otherwise ignition may have a broken or stuck pin and will need to be replaced.

Is your steering wheel locked? I know this sounds completely stupid but if your steering wheel is locked you can try this: Say your steering wheel is locked to the right (or left for that matter) Try turning the wheel (while the key is in accessory mode) even further that direction and try to start it up. In any case which ever direction your steering wheel is locked it will move one way or the other...just try moving the wheel while turning the key and let me know what happens.

2008 ford focus Any body have a problem with ignition lock module? key and tumbler is not turning the ignition switch far enough to engage start the car.

Some issues here, I'll give you a few thoughts. The antitheft system should have recognized that a key was not in the ignition. So something must have happened to the antitheft, but that is not a issue for the lock not turning enough. Some ignition switches have a sliding mount which times the mechanical distance of the control rod or cable that you are trying to move with the screwdriver in the ignition. This simply means that the ignition switch was secured too high on the steering column when it was mounted. Also some lock cylinders will fit inside the ignition but when they are installed 180 degrees off, it messes up the distance on the rod length. It is like the activating fixture(as say a half moon shape) is on the left instead of the right and now can not move the control rod far enough.

Getting back to the module, if it is not noticing you are not using a key and it starts and runs you have a problem. Hope this helps.

2000 chevy venture key jammed ignition replaced ignition car wont turn over. OBD-II codes U1000, P0463, P1626. How do I fix problem

Code U1000 is saying the ECM lost communication with the BCM which can happen when the key switch is turned far enough to stop the engine but not enough to turn the accessories off.
Code 463 is for fuel level sensor circuit high which is a problem with the fuel gauge or the sending unit in the tank.

Code 1626 involves the theft deterrent system.
P1626 CHEVROLET - Theft Deterrent Fuel Enable Signal Not Received

The code 1626 could be the issue - the passkey system may not be reading the chip in your key.

Hr holden ignition switch

Sounds like you need a new ignition switch. Not the lock cylinder, but the electrical part of the switch.

Cannot move the shift lever from the PARK position

Your shift-lock actuator works off of your brake lamp circuits. Check your brake lamps. If your brake lamps are not working, then there is a very good chance that fixing your brake lamps will fix your shifter.

To work around this so you can move the vehicle, turn the key just far enough to unlock the steering wheel, but not far enough to make all the dash lights come on. You should then be able to shift the transmission to NEUTRAL and start the engine. Everything will work ok with your shifter until you put it back in PARK.

1997 Jette won't start , turn key on & alarm goes off

I had the same problem. Mine was a battery issue. Enough power was getting through to turn on the accessories, but not enough to turn the starter. When this happened, the alarm would go off. The positive and negative terminals were extremely corroded, which disrupted the connection. Clean the insides of the terminals with a wire brush and you should be ok. Also check the condition of the battery.
