Question about 2000 Dodge Intrepid

No heat and the defrost is the only place air will come out. Some time ago in the spring the a/c would not work then it started working but now the heat does not, and you get no get air flow from the vent or the floor it only comes out of the defrost portion.

Check fuse for blower motor, it is a 30amp fuse behind the plastic panel that is to the left of steering wheel, you must open the driver door, open up the fuse panel, I believe the 30amp is the only 30amp fuse in there, If it is blown replace it, then try the heat again. If nothing or fuse blows again, check the blower motor resistor. This is located under the glove compartment. Do a search on google if that is the case, I was able tofind a solution by putting in "blower motor resistor" ended up buying one for @ 30$.

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion, and a couple of days ago whenever you would turn on the heat it would blow hot air for about 3-4 min and then it suddenly sounds like it switches to defrost and starts blowing...

I think the flapper doors operate on vacuum. Could be that as engine warms some engine part changes its setting and swaps to a vacuum line which is leaking. Also possible a flapper door actuator has small leak. Use vacuum gauge to check and see if something changes vacuum at same time error occurs.

2003 ford expedition i just got it a week ago and the front heat works great but the back vents only blow cold air. How do i fix this?

With the car parked and engine idling, turn the ventilation control between windshield defroster and "open air ducts" to front and rear vents. Listen to pinpoint where the valves are that open and closes the air ducts. It sounds like the air duct to rear vents are blocked, and the cold air in rear air duct is coming from "outside ventilation." The air vent to allow hot air to the rear vent is stuck in "open ventilation" mode, like when you're driving in spring or summer months.

195 Honda Accord front window will not defrost, hot air is coming out of vent

defrost or defog?
there are 3 things that must work to get defrost
1: heat (bingo)
2: fresh air ,never use recirc mode or it will fog up.
3: A/C works, the A/C will DEFOG.
now pure Defrost/
I must assume you mean the outside of the glass? yes.
then all it takes is heat. and time.
if the engine thermostat (coolant) is not above 180F then it will fail..

Windows fog up

Heated air in large quantities is what gets rid of window fog. Make sure you're actually getting hot air out of the dashboard vents, and if not, follow that problem.

Can't switch interior heat from dash to defrost on 2001 montana

The problem will be on the other side under and just to the right of the steering column. This is kind of a pain to repair. Pull the lower cover off from under the steering column. Watch the lever on the hvac case move as you click the position switch to defrost and back. It most likely is hanging up and not moving into defrost position. Reach up there and just move the lever or arm a little and it will probably finish it's movement. The arm has worn to a point where it has a little slot in it that is preventing or stopping the movement.
I have repaired this but you gotta watch it several times. The lever is spring loaded so you need to watch closely or you won't get it back together right.
I got the thing out and smoothed the worn place where the lever started working again. It's not real easy to get out so be careful. Can't really tell you anymore than that.

Car warms up but heat takes a very long time to come on. Blows right volume of air and settings for various defrost, feet, head all work. Temp of air is cold for a solid ten minutes then system works fine....

There are many possible causes for this. A good place to start would be to make sure your radiator fluid is filled up to the cold level when the engine is cold and to the hot level when your engine is hot.

2004 2500 hd 6.0 air is coming out of the defrost vents

There will be some air coming out of the defrost vents at all times, with everything working correctly.

However, I presume that most of the air is coming out of the defrost, so Look for damaged or cracked vacuum lines. Your system is designed to fail in the defrost mode, so everything is spring loaded to cause this, a fairly good safety measure.....
