The heater core may be stopped up.Remove bothe heater hoses from the heater core, and use a water hose to flush out the heater core.Put the water hose up against one heater core pipe,it will come out the other pipe.Make sure the vent door inside the car is moving when you select heat,If I can help, any further, please let me know.>>roniecon@gmail.com

My heating stopped working in my 1992 Cadillac Eldorado what is the problem

Try checking the heater control switch/valve, sometimes located in line with the heater hoses (it is a fairly common defect). You may also have a clogged or bad heater coil. (similar to a small radiator) or maybe a fault in the heat system's controls.

1.COOLING SYSTEM POSSIBLY BLOCKED . SOME TIMES BACK FLUSHING USING A WATER HOSE.
2. FLUSH RADIATOR
3. REMOVE THERMOSTAT
4. REMOVE HEATER HOSES FROM HEATER CORE AT FIREWALL
5. PUT WATER HOSE IN WHERE YOU REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT
6. FLUSH UNTIL CLEAR WATER COMES OUT
7. IF YOU HAVE AN OLD WATER HOSE LAYING AROUND, CUT ONE END OFF AND USING A SMALL SCREW CLAMP ATTACH IT TO ONE OF THE COPPER PIPES, NOT TOO TIGHT
YOU MIGHT DAMAGE IT. THEN TURN ON THE WATER AND FLUSH OUT THE HEATER CORE, UNTIL WATER IS CLEAR.
RE ATTACH ALL HOSES INSTALL NEW THERMOSTAT , REFILL WITH ANTIFREEZE.

How to replace the heater core in a 1991 Cadillac Eldorado.

Not sure if this will help but this is on a 2001 Eldo which should be close to what you have. I would also suggest the library and check out a Chilton's repair manual for you car.

94 Cadillac Eldorado overheating uphill

This actually sounds like your motor is not the problem it sounds as
thougth your transmission is in need of work. if you have flushed your
system also may look at your oil pump system as the change in pitch of the road to climb hills may infact be pulling sludge against the sump
tube screen and plugging the oil pump. these are the only two reasons I can see for this to happen if system only dose this when climbing a hill
.

My dash board lights and computer lights go out and come back on after a little bit. a engine control light comes on. its a 1988 cadillac eldorado help.

This is your Central Power Supply located above your Gas Pedal. Its a 4in. by 6in. Silver Box.They arent made any more so tou have to find one at a Junkyayard $125 to $175 or a new one at some dealer in the U.S. A new one will go for $300 but its plug and play so get the new one. This is the most common problem with an 88 ElDorado.

I have a 93 delta 88. heat comes and goes. we have changed the thermostat, and checked fluids. the car does not run hot. but the heat will work one day and blow cold the next.

Check the vacuum diaphragm in the heater hose. It's a little metal valve with a hose going to it. When the heat is turned on the vacuum line opens the valve letting hot water pass through the heater core.

The heater bypass valve is bad. It's located on the heater hose under the hood near the firewall. It looks like a little 3in.diameter black disc with a vacuum line attatched to it

Just follow the Upper Radiator Hose to the Block. The Hose will attach to a Bell housing on the Manifold. Remove this Bellhousing and the Hose. The Thermostat is Right underneath the Bell Housing. Reinstall the Same way that the Old one is sitting when you find it or it will not work Properly.

NEED HEAT

This can be caused by several things. 1st check the coolant level. You would be surprised how many people don't have heat because the coolant level is low. The hot engine coolant won't circulate thru the heater core if the level is low, resulting in no or little heat.
2nd What does the engine temp gauge indicate? Is it in the low-normal range or showing that the car isn't warming up? If that's the case, replace your thermostat, as that would indicate the thermostat may be stuck open, not allowing the engine to reach operating temperature. 3rd. Problem w/ heat control on dash. If the control isn't working properly, you won't get heat. Some cars have a valve that opens @ the firewall in the heater hose line that will stick shut, so no flow of coolant to heater core, others (probably what u have) is a 'door' that opens and closes when heat switch is moved. This door may not be working due to vacuum control/or cable problem w/ operation of door.4th is a plugged up heater core, which is the last thing to check, because it's the most difficult and expensive heat problem to fix. Let me know what u find, hope it's one of the easy ones!
