What trouble code do you have? as long as a fualt exists in the system that controls the engine and emissions system the light will remain on.

lots of things, 1.6L or 1.8L engine?
never tuned up.?
bad spark.?
low fuel pressure (3 causes) {pump, reg or voltage pump low)
ECU sees all major sensor errors, sets the CEL glow driving?
insert the diagnostic jumper and drive with it planted.
then when 5mph happens does the CEL flash an error code?
im just might.
click the link there Diagnostic jumpers.

Eletrical problem with my 1998 jeep grand cherokee limited 4.0L

can i buy a comma there, i cant figure out which is what.
what fuse dont get power, name it. (?photo it)

98 is older car, many have bad or hacked up wiring this old.
a mechanic can see that in 1 min, flat. I cant.
in fact i cant do this.
1: check all fuse with a real DMM meter on ohms.
2: check voltage at each fuse (both ends) works 100x better.
3: is battery at 12.65vdc ? if not, it's Discharged or BAD. (charge it)
4: do the head lamps (easy) work at full brightness.? key off.
5: key on do all the cluster warning lamps glow, like new car did
or as the operators guide tells you? (brake, oil, charge, CEL,etc)
5a; the CEL must glow, that is the CHECK engine lamp, if not the ECU/PCM has issues,
6: the turns are dead, but IS the emergency flasher working.?
7: Does the CEL lamp glow running?
8: DID you SCAN the PCM and see if there are DTCs errors.
any shop can scan any car, made, scan it with a real scan tool.
in the USA even the oldest junky scan tool works on 98.
even a $9 tool off fleabay. works.

by now we will have evidence to make better diagnostic tests.

Engine raves cant exceed 3.500, and speed hardly reaches to 110km/h

which engine.?
is the CEL glowing running (check engine lamp)
yes, why are you ignoring it, scan it.
better, scan it any ways, and not all errors glow the CEL.
sounds like its either:
  1. check all fuses
  2. ECU stuck in limphome mode (yes, scan it)
  3. misfire, not doing tune ups. at each 60,000 miles (100km)
  4. bogging starving for fuel (tests) fuel pressure is #1 test.
  5. bad fuel.

yes, scan it, why wait.?

Change ignition switch

double posted.
adjust what, type out what you did and expected and what didnt work.
1: I cant turn key ,its locked.
2: i turn key to Ignition1 pos. and get no CEL ,brake and charge light, Fuse blown
3: turn key to CRANK, and the engine starter is dead, no crank
4: the steering wheel is locked, or wont lock.
5: i cant extract the key or put it in.

pick one or add one.?

Engine change

CEL glowing, did you connect a scan tool. and it shows DTC codes
for the CMP???, or is this a pure guess?, Cam Sensor bad.
elaborate , please
no country stated, do cant comment. as some countries didnt use. OBD2 until 2006> but the CEL still blow, running bad at cold or hot idle. your post really is that, MISFIRE at Cold only idle.
i bet all else is theories.
tell more get more.
get in car, tune key, CEL glows, start car, does CEL go out?
if not out, that means there are stored error codes, so scan it.

No power ig when turn key

old posts zero answers. what year, no year stated.?
great post, Key does nothing" clear
and is called NO CRANK, if it cant crank it cant start (m/t push starting might)
any time its a no crank,
check ALL FUSES.
1: if A/t wiggle gear shift (P then try Neutral) N might work.
2: if M/T , wiggle clutch , near floor pressed.

if CEL lamp is dead, key on, the fuses are blown.
the CEL must glow key on, or Fuses blown.
easy huh?

1997 Mazda Protege...CEL P0141 still on with both new o2 sensors.

Code 141 is for the heater circuit for bank one sensor two. That is the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter.
If you have replaced the sensor and the code still sets, the problem is in the harness or the power source for that heater circuit.
The sensor is taking too long to heat up.
