2000 saturn sl1 sedan Wipers started acting up a

sounds to me like the wiper motor may need to be replaced, but before doing that see if there is a wiper relaay in the fuse box, it is a lot cheeper than a motor and it may be as simple as popping it out and putting a new one in. Also check the wiper linkage, it too could just be stripped. Hope this helps. Stay out of the rain. Hope this helps.

Wipers on my 1994 Saturn SL1 (SOHC) sedan start fine, but then won't turn off. Is it more likely the motor or the switch? Is there something else to be looking at?

the wiper motor assembly has a park sensor, and if this sensor fails, it will not let wipers park or shut off. ( replace wiper motor assembly).

1996 satrun sl1, wipers would go off somtimes, it

Listen for sound of motor, if there isn't any sound when attempting go to the fuse box and check to make sure that you have power to the motor. If you do you will need to take the shroud off under the windshield wipers which will take a 13mm wrench and some prying. You won't need to take the shroud all the way off, just use a 2 x4 to place between it. Then take a test light while the switch is in run position and the connector disconnected so you don't get your fingers caught; and test to see if there is any power coming to the motor. If there is, the motor is most likely at fault.

Wipers not working on 98 saturn sl1

sounds like a short in the wiper switch inside cab.
test volts at the wiper motor with switch on with test light if none, check wiring to motor for shorts or breaks.
replace switch inside cab if all else checks ok.

if light lights up at motor IE has 12 volts at motor,on all wiper settings, it may be bad motor.

Rear window wiper problem

I had a 94 wagon, and have a 99 wagon, and 2001 wagon. I think what you need there is a new rear wiper arm. This is about 44 bucks at The problem is getting the old wiper arm off without breaking the rear window. The corrosion between the wiper arm and the motor output shaft basically turns the metal into one piece, which may well explain why your arm spring is not holding the arm close to the window. Also explains why you cannot find used saturn rear wiper arms or rear motors on ebay. There is a small sliding lock at the base, but having moved it aside you will find the corrosion will not let the arm go anywhere.

Having done this twice, my approach as follows:

Get a new wiper arm

Take a hack saw and carefully saw the top of the wiper arm off exposing the motor shaft end. After spraying WD40 or other corrosion remover on get a small gear puller and pull the arm off the shaft. Use never seize and slide the new one on.
