THE SECURITY SYSTEM OF THIS TRUCK IS INTEGRATED INTO THE COMPUTER THAT RUNS THE ENGINE AND EMISSION SYSTEMS, THERE IS NO WAY TO DISABLE IT, THE CORRECT REMOTE FOR THIS TRUCK IS AVIL ON EBAY AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE, STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THE REMOTE HAS TO DO WITH THE SECURITY SYSTEM HAVING TO BE DISABLED. WHAT WOULD IT ACCOMPLISH? ALSO IF YOU GET IT STOLEN AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY FINDS OUT THE SECURITY WAS INOP THEY CAN VOID THE CLAIM

To de-program the RKE fob from the 1st truck ( the 1998 one ? ), enter programming mode. I had to try 3 times on my 2001 to enter programming mode, and thought I did it the same each time, obviously I did not, so do not give up if you do not enter programming mode the 1st time.

Once you enter programming mode ( locks cycle ) wait 30 seconds, and programming mode should exit. Entering programming mode for the RKE fobs erases all previous RKE fobs.

This should cure the problem with the RKE fobs being programmed to 2 different trucks.

The RKE ( Remote Keyfob Entry ) is not a security feature, just a convenience item, so you are not disabling any actual security item.

My car key has a chip in it an i cant open my car door or trunk ,what could be the problem

alot of cars have security chips in the keys and the purpose of this chip is to disable the security locking features such as an immobilizer.
.... however in that car i think most are only fob boards for the remote locking system ensure that if there is a battery in the key/fob that it is not flat.
also note that some keys are designed not to open the trunk but should open the rest of the car.

the general rule of thumb for car locks/systems is;

if the key turns in the lock then it is likely the locking mechanism in the door (if you had another key that worked then you could and should rule this out).

NOTE also lot of car door locks have electrics tied to them these days (hence the drivers door unlocks the whole car), so you still can't rule out the cars security unit or the local master slave units.

.... but if the key does not turn properly or at all, then it is likely the wrong key for that lock, unless the lock is jammed. most locks are designed so only that key or type of key will turn in the barrel of the lock.

Car wont start. set off alarm. I do not have the remote

Car may have a starter disabling security feature. Unfortunately if you don't have the remote you will need to get with the dealership if that is the case.

How do I disable the deadlock on my 95 saab 900se without the security key?

The security key is used to prevent theives from stealing your vehicle. There should not be any way to disable or overide this feature, otherwise it would be pretty useless as a security feature. Probably the only way that that you are going to be able to get you car started again, is to have it towed to your local dealer and have them make you a new key and have it programmed to your car. I will not be cheap. You can also call your dealer and find out if there is another possible solution.

There is a security feature that will allow to go for a short distance but will stop. It is basically the same as the alarm, when you lock your doors, and then shut the door as you exit, there is a red security light that will blink in the dash. If you manually unlock and open any other door besides the driver door, the alarm will go off. To disable the alarm you have to cycle the key in the driver door. The same goes for the security feature. Cycling the key in the driver door lock manually, should disable the security feature until the doors are locked again. There may be a problem with the remote if you use it instead of you key to unlock your door.

2006 chevy colorado passlock comes on and stays on, truck won't start for 10+ min. Can I disable this feature?

No, it can not be disabled.
The theft system is indicating a short term theft issue.
Have you added any "after market" remote start systems or alarms?
If NO.
Insert the key in the ignition, turn the key to run position ( do not start ) and leave it in that position for 10 minutes. Cycle the key to LOCK position, count to 10, then turn the key back to run position and leave on for 10 more minutes. After the 10 minutes is up, repeat the procedure (1) more time and the security system will relearn the PASS code.
Give it a try and let me know.

Programming the garage door opener

I know what the problem is but never tried to resolve it. I have a 1998 XJ8 and went through the same problem. After numerous attempts to program the 4 channel built in opener I researched the problem and learned that the system in the car actually changes the code after every use. It's a security feature built in to the system. I simply started keeping my remote in the car.

There must be a way to disable the automatic randomizer so it retains the code from your remote opener everytime. Check with the dealer to see if it can be disabled and you will be in business. Please post the info if you get it.

Good Luck!
