Yes but you dont have to replace the engine. You prob bent some valves in the cylinder head you will need to get a mechanic to remove it and see exactly what has been damaged.

Volvo 240 transmission

Problem is with the transmission fluid. Get it changed and get the oil filter changed if required. Get the conditions of the gears checked. Those jerks may be due to broken or damaged teeth.

I have 86,000 miles on my 1993 240 Classic. What is the maintenance schedule and what should be done at this time?

Most car dealers recommend maintenance services at 30K, 60K, 90K and so on. The 30K service is mainly focused in inspection of the systems and replace of the fuel filter.
The 60K is expensive for cars with timing belt. The coolant, transmission oil and filter, and the brake fluid has to be changed. The air filter and spark plugs has to be replaced at this time too.
Most costly is the replacement of the timing belt. Volvo recommends for Volvo 240, changing the timing belt every 50,000 miles. Needless to say, they are pretty religious about this now.
The B20, B21, B23, and B230 engines are non-interference engines, meaning that the camshaft can be rotated independently of the crankshaft and no damage will result to the engine. That is, if the timing belt breaks, the valves will not hit the pistons; the engine will simply stop.
On the other hand, the B234 16-valve engines and any of the other Volvo multi valve engines are interference engines. Loss of the timing belt in these engines will result in severe or fatal engine damage.

My 1992 volvo 240 wouldn't start until after several tries, then today it kept stalling at stop lights. Took it to a garage and they said the engine mounts were broken and fan belts needed replacing, but...

These models have a control module on the right front fender which had problems with the connections. Have someone crank the engine while you wiggle the harness. If starting comes and goes, Volvo sells the repair kit for this. Let me know if you need further assistance.

The horn on my volvo 240 doesnt work. Theres no power by the horn, so i took of the steeringwheel. And no power there either. The fuse is ok and power on both sides of it. So is there a relay somewhere...

Most likely yes, you nailed it. But it might be just unplugged. Look for a small metal box on the firewall or fenders of engine compartment. Often they are near the horn, if I had a Volvo 240, I'd be able to tell you exactly where, sorry.

ECGU? where on the engine is it?

You mean ECU, Electronic Control Unit, the computer brain of your car. You can get it analysed (and replaced) at your Volvo dealer.

The ECU itself is not likely to be the cause itself, it's probably something else causing the ECU to stop working, like bad wiring, a failing sensor, a broken part, etc. Hopefully the ECU just shut your car down to prevent any (more) damage caused by something else. As stated the dealer can diagnose and hopefully fix this.

Engine won't turn over

Check for damaged wires in looms.
Example The black plastic tubing that contains wires may be very stiff & the wires inside of these looms my be broken.
You will need a multimeter to buzz all this out.
