This is how you determine if the wheel bearing is the problem and which one it is, go some where you can make sweeping steep left and right turns, if the noise stops when you unload the wheels in either a left or right turn you have a wheel bearing noise, the bad bearing will be the one that is the unloaded wheel in the turn

What might be experienced by transaxil/transmission bearings wear? Rumbling or vibrations?

Kia is bad with wheel bearings ;.About 80 to 100k they start going bad. You have to check them physically with a dial gauge or know how to inspect them in other manners. They cause a rumbling sound when they start to go bad.

Front end rotation noise

It should have been thoroughly checked. Noises like these on four wheel drives could several different things. A bearing, CV axle, or the differential, or bearings in the differential. A wheel bearing will make different sounds when making a turn. A CV axle is a constant sound. Differential bearings can come and go, depending on if it is a bearing for the axle or a pinion bearing. Axle side bearings usually make a constant noise. The differential can also come and go. Depends on acceleration or slowing down. All these sounds are also with a vibration. Slight to harsh.

although 33k is low mileage it sounds like you have a bad wheel bearing hub assembly.

I just had my 2007 Volvo S40 right front wheel bearing replaced. However, there is still a roaring noise coming from the front of the car when I turn the wheel to the right. My mechanic told me that...

Turning to the right changes the load on the left, but that
isn't the problem

The problem is poor diagnoses & failure to replace both
wheel bearings when one fails

After all-- they both have the same mileage on them

Sounds like I have a flat tire but don't

Yes it is a thumping type sound when the front wheels rotate when driving. You need to have the wheel bearings checked.

Roaring sound in the front when driving.

could be a front wheel bearing. as your driving turn wheel left and then right and see if the noise gets worse , usually the noise will get worse on the oppisite wheel of which you are turning eg: turn left and you the noise louder it should be right wheel bearing. Check tires first to see if there is any choppieness to them, this also can create a noise

Just had new rear wheel bearings and discs fitted and now the back end seems to steer over bumps. feels simlar to a flat tyre

take it back, they did not set the bearings in correctly. The bearings have to be put in perfectly straight. If they are put in at any angle then they make noises when they turn.
