Question about 1993 Mercury Villager
When I turn on my right blinker (in 1993 Mercury Villager), the side headlight comes on steady. Also, the right brake light works fine except when the headlights are on. The tail light works (this is only the right side) and the brake light works. But when the headlights are on (therefor the tail light) the bulb goes completely black when brake is engaged instead of the brighter brake filament lighting up.
This is an older vehicle and I've heard of the EXACT problem of the side light coming on with the blinker. I know electrical problems occur in old vehicles, but since I'd heard of the side light/blinker issue I thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone had run into the same thing.
I looked in the fuse box but since the lights work and this is only an issue on one side I thought it might be a connection or corrosion issue rather than fuse. Looks like fused relays mostly in this one.
Hope to get some sort of insight before I start ripping out panels and wiring harnesses.....
Most likely a bad ground in your electrical system; consult your local mechanic
