About the only way to drain transmission fluid is to take off the oil pan on the bottom of the tranny. There is no drain plug on transmissions.

Good luck

Solution one is incorrect. There is a drain plug quite similar to that you would find on your oil pan. If you were to look at the passenger side of your transaxle the bolt is fairly noticeable on the lower rear of that side.

Where does the transmission fluid go

The transmission should have a dip stick. It may be hard to find but its there. With the car running check the fluid level. If it is low than you will need a skinny funnal and remove the dip stick and install your fluid there.

I have a 1993 saturn manual transmission and when

Time to find a much lower mileage used tranny and have it put in. Replace the clutch components with new stuff while you are at it.Note that the transmissions 91-99 will most likely swap but you must know whether you have an SL1 or SL2 and the donor car must be the same..

1995 Saturn SL2 Automatic. Will not shift into gear when first started. Must warm up first, sometimes for 20-30 minutes. Engine starts right up and runs good. What do I need to fix? Thank you Robert

you have dirty cervo valves.Pour one pint of deisel fuel into transmission let run for approx.5 minutes.Drain all of fluid out.Change filter on front of transmission(it looks like a oil filter)replace fluid and that should take care of problem.

Check manual transmission fluids in saturn slf2. How?

Most manual transmissions don't have a dipstick. They have a drain plug and a fill plug. When the oil reaches the fill plug then it is full. Unless it leaks, the level never goes down. It just has to be replaced after some mileage like 100,000.

1999 saturn sl2 transmission wont shift from 1st gear

Your valve body and possibly input shaft nut need to be replaced. The valve body's booster valve is worn down and won't create pressure. Before it went completely out it slammed on the input shaft nut and loosened it.

You need to replace the valve body and retorque the input shaft nut. The transmission is not junk. The above needs to be replaced and change the filter and fluid and do it every 20K miles.

1993 Saturn SL2 will not shift into highway gear

Saturn says and I quote

there transmission fluid is not to be changed after the first change at 6000 miles.

Now I say it should be changed at every 30000 miles. If changing out the fluid doesn't work then you need to go to a transmission repair shop.
