Is the charge indicator light lit on the insturment cluster ? (battery symbol ) Did you check for B+ voltage on the bigger wire on the back of the alternator ? The S terminal in the connector should have B+ voltage ,as well as the F an L terminals . No battery voltage at any of these will cause it not to work . Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model an engine . Under system click on engine ,then under subsystem click on charging system . Then click the search button , then on the blue link . This diagram show all connection's on the alternator . All wire's should have B+ voltage , testing with a volt meter . 1998 isuzu trooper need wiring diagram for charging system with a3.5 li5ter motor

1998 trooper new alternator and still not charging and alternator bench tested good,
Check main 80 amp fuse in engine compartment and also check fuses in inside fuse box, there two in that one. first is engine fuse 15amp and the 10amp gauge fuse,

Here is the wiring diagram for the charging system as you asked for , also check connections, follow battery wire off the back of alternator make sure connections are good , that wire runs to engine fuse box and that is one fuse that i said to check it is 80amp, hope this is helpful good day9_30_2012_10_15_05_pm.gif

Wire diagram for chevy 3500 van

When you say charging,do you mean amp reading or volt reading?Amps should rise when first started then drop.Volts should stay close to constant. The small wire going to the alternator to power the regulator in the alternator is just switched power. If the volts fall under 14 after ten minutes you may need to try a replacement alternator.

1995 Grand Am GT-3.1 Ltr. V-6: I am needing a wiring diagram for the alternator charging circuit. I have a short somewhere and before I found a burnt wire coming from the alternator. But before getting too...

Most likely...seems like you have a handle on it. There may be wiring diagrams available, for example Chiltons manuals...To my knowledge there exists no "internal" wiring diagrams for alternators of any make.
Good Luck

Not charging

Possibly a fusible link somewhere in the circuit has burned through and disconnected the circuit.A wiring diagram would be needed to look for the location of any fusible links Ohms check the wires involved in the alternator charging circuit to verify continuity.
