It just means you have turned your overdrive off. I'm not too familiar with your car, but on most it will be a button on the side of the gearshift knob, or a button on the dash.

2001 f 150 od light flashing.

The OD light flashes when a fault is detected in the computer controlled transmission, you need that fault code read with a scan tool.

The first thing to do is change the transmission filter and fluid. This service should be done every 80,000 miles. If the OD light continues to flash after the filter service is done, then perform an OBDII scan of the stored fault history. Look for a transmission speed sensor fault. A bad speed sensor will result in no torque converter lock-up and no overdrive function. Also look for a bad torque converter lock-up solenoid fault. This solenoid can be replaced when accessing the trans filter (while the trans pan is off)

How can i fix this problem im having with my crown victoria 2005 my OD Overdrive blinking

The OD light is blinking because the transmission control module has detected a fault in the transmission operation, most common is slipping as measured by the input and output turbine shaft speed sensors. You may feel no slipping but the sensors are detecting it or one of the sensors is giving a fault signal.

Just changed automatic transmission with a used one. Filled and started, trans temp light, od off light and check gauges light all came on. Would this be a bad sensor? Is this in the pan on a 47re?

run the fault codes . check that all cables have been connected correctly. Unless you know for sure that the replacement box is a worker then you may have faults in a failed box.

2006 crown vic at 45- 55 mph when in OD car shutters, bucking effect

Have had to troubleshoot similar issues - if there are no fault codes - don't rule out Tune up problems like missfiring spark plugs.
When the Transmission Torque Converter is engaged "Lock up" and in OverDrive - every missfire from the engine can be felt.
Let me know if this helps at all
Thank You

Will make dodge trans temp light o d off

Run fault codes and look for a servo/sensor fault in the od section of the box. If the od band/clutch is slipping it will cause the oil to over heat. Have a pressure test done on the box to ensure proper operating pressure. Check for correct oil level in the gear box.

O/D light flashes

when the OD light flashes it is to alert you to the fact a fault has been detected by the TCM (transmission control module), u now need a dealer to test the system for the fault code that is stored in the TCM memory whenever the OD light is flashing.

2004 f150 transmission fault light

Sounds like the transmission got overheated. I would not worry if shutting it off and restarting got rid of the fault.

Enjoy your vacation.
