It sounds like you have a defective fuel pump. The pump is locate inside the fuel tank, the fuel tank must be removed to replace the pump. Please follow this procedure to remove the fuel tank.
Disconnect neg battery cable, safely raise vehicle, place floor jack under tank, loosen gas tank straps and allow tank to slowly drop halfway, disconnect( this is the hard part) fuel lines, and power connections at tank. Drop tank. With a brass hammer/punch carefully remove retaining ring/seal.Reverse to install.A new pump module will cost you $300-$400 at the dealer. Don't use a cheap pump replace the entire assembly because this is a float/sender/pump/ in one. Replace your fuel filter too or the fuel pump warranty is voided..

I have a 95 gmc jimmy changed pump and sendin unit still isnt getin any gas

First check and see if your fuel filter is clogged or came apart and was sucked into the line going to the engine. Then id make sure the line is clear from the filter back.Check the power going to the pump and the ground. also as a side not if you have a securety system re set it. Some systems cut power to the fuel pump when they have been tripped. hope this helped and good luck.

My 1995 jimmy will not start sounds like its out of gas. Car ran perfectly ok until now. Help!

You may have a dirty fuel filter or a weak fuel pump. You fuel pressure should be 62-65 PSI when the fuel line is pressurized engine not running and should drop around 5psi when the engine is running.
Try spraying some starter fluid in through the air intake tube, not down the throttle body (bad). If the engine starts, then it's not your ignition system and you have a fuel pressure issue that will need to be addressed.
Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter and check your fuel pressure at the shredder valve on the fuel line by the fuel injector lines at the back of the engine. If fuel pressure is low, inspect the ground wire to your fuel sending unit pump before replacing it.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck.

1995 gmc jimmy-won't accelerate wants to stall

could be the fuel pump will need to do a fuel pressure test on it ..the pressure should be 63 anything lower even so much as a few lbs will cause this to happen well if it sat that long i would consider a complete tune up and check all vacuum lines for dry-rot

I have a 1995 GMC Jimmy that won't start.

It sounds like a faulty fuel pressure regulator. When you turn the key to the on position the fuel pump starts for an instant to build pressure in the fuel line. If the pressure regulator has allowed too much leakage since the last start then the fuel pump does not have enough time to prime the line. The fuel pressure will still measure ok when the car is running because the leakage is very low. Try turning the key off and on a few times prior to starting and see if the extra pump priming steps help. Also check the vacuum line to the regulator because it needs vacuum to work correctly.

I would check the fuel lines themselves and make sure there is no blockage. If not you might want to check your fuel injectors and see if they need to be replaced. also make sure you didnt install fuel filter backwards.
