Question about 2005 Ford Focus

1 Answer

I have 2005 Ford Focus and radio will cut out on me. I can't use the cd player/radio but the panel still lights up. I can see me changing the channels, volume etc but no sound. It does this every so often. Now it will come on when I start the car sometimes but then will stop playing. Usually it will eventually start working & stay on for awhile but this seems to be a new problem.

It is very common on Ford models of that year to have cd's not eject. If you are using burned cd's, these are generally to thick for the player to handle. Working at the Dealership i have seen this many times. As far as the wiring harness, its colors should be the same as the old one , so you need to cut off the connectors and reattach.

How to I remove a cd that is stuck in the player of my 2006 Ford Focus?

Generally, you will need to remove the radio/CD player from the instrument panel. Once you have it out, you can remove the sheet metal cover on the top of the unit. With the top off, you can get your CD out.

How do you remove am/fm cd player from 2005 ford focus

There is a plastic "plate" surrounding your CD player; on the back of this "plate" there are 4 plastic guide/retainer pins about 3/4 of an inch long. Generally located in the 4 corners of the "plate." With that in mind, using a taped-up, flat-headed screw driver(tape the flat end as to not scratch the interior trim) and simply and ever so lightly, pry the coin dish(below the "plate" mentioned above)out and away from the dash, opening a hand sizes hole. From that hole using the same screw-driver, using the same technique, remove the plate; being oh so careful because the temp control knobs, cig lighter, etc, come out attached to the "plate."
You will notice, I believe, 4 small octagonal plastic bolt heads protruding from the area right next to the player......remove those bolts, unplug radio and whalll-laah..

Turn the radio off first and then disconnect the battery for 2 min then reconnect the battery. This should reset your radio and then you can eject your CD, and reset your stations and clock. Good luck

now don't hold me to this but I have heard of this before. the problem was that the computer of the truck isn't seeing a radio that it reconizes so it isn't allowin the radio to play. I have done car sterio installations to were i had to wire in the old stock radio with the new one to allow the new radio to work. this is an anti-theft feature I believe. I hope this helps you and doesnt confuse you
