Your battery has failed and requires replacement.

Typically when you start getting the heiroglyphic flashes on the odometer it usually means the battery is too low to even jumpstart.

Engine check light is on and odometer stop running

Vehicle speed sensor. This runs the odometer/speedometer. Top of tranny, a cable runs all the way to the back of the odometer.

Odometer not working

Does your speedometer work? They run off of the same signal. If your speedo works, but not work odo, then there is a mechanical problem inside the instrument cluster. I have seen the gears strip inside the odometer.

I just filled my 88 Porsche 928 up with gas and I zero'd the trip odometer while I was driving. I think this was a wrong move/decision? Wasnt thinking. Now mileage and trip odometer doesnt work?

aahhhhhh... a nice and fun vehicle, certainly miss it!

As I remember, you had to press and hold. Also, try turning your vehicle off, wait and turn it back on as it should reset. No worries.

I remember it got stuck in first gear (automatic) and wouldn't change gears so I pulled over, turned off the ignition, waited a minute, turned it on and it was reset. All is fine with the Porsche.

Enjoy the V8 beast.

yes the transmission speed sensor has most likely failed, to confirm this have a trouble code test run

CHeck Engine Light / odometer goes haywire

this is most likely due to the Vehicle Speed Sensor malfunctioning, this will set the check engine light and cause the Odometer issue as well, have a system computer test run to see what trouble code is stored in memory, that will pin it down.

2002 jeep liberty speedometer stopped working

My guess is that the speed sensor has gone out or the wires that go to it have been knocked off somehow.
