SOURCE: mercedes c180 fuel gauge giving mix reading

You can try to clean the ground behind the instrument cluster to see if that helps but most likely the sending unit has gone bad in the gas tank.

I have similar problem with the same type of car. It's not only the speedometer, it is also the fuel meter. But after driving some minutes, they will be back in business.

The factory recommends you replace it at 100,000 miles, any sooner is a waste of money, the new design rounded tooth T belts are very durable.

Timing marks for any vehile, even a Mercedes, are on the harmonic balancer. The pullys that drive the belts is bolted to the crankshaft and that knotch needs to be marked with a white paint pen.Line it up with the timing tab on the block right there at the harmonic balancer.

When to change cam belt on 2006 c180 with 95000kM

Mercedes engines use timing chains not belts. The timing chain should last the life of the engine and no service is needed, unless something out of the ordinary happens, worn guide or sprocket.

How doe's the fan belt go around pully wheels on a Lreg merc c180 thanks

Tricky one...... however serpentine belts always double back on them selves to maximise friction and taughtness, as a rule these go round the pullies and the double back to go around the tensioner. Try placing them around the pullies and the pulling the belt between them towards the tensioner!
