This problem is caused by a defective fuel gauge sending unit, it is located inside the gas tank, replace it.

My fuel gauge worked yesterday and toady it will not register anything but empty. What could possibly be wrong with my car?

could be a few thing's, most obviouse not a lot of fuel but I take it you have plenty in your car, sticking fuel guage, faulty connection somewhere, or a dicky guage are some of the causes

When my fuel tank is full the guage registers empty

Could be a problem with the gauge in the instrument cluster, or the wiring that goes back to the tank, or the sending unit in the tank.
The sending unit has a float much like your toilet which could stick or fail to move.

Replaced fuel pump replaced replaced fuel filter everything works fine except fuel guage will not register. put 25 dollars fuel in tank still will not register help!!!

Possible that the fuel tank level sensor is not working or conneccting to the dashboard meter. You need to check if the float of the rheostat is damaged as then it will not act if the float is damaged.
Also if the rheostat is damaged it will not indicate as the resistance is open.
Make use of a multimeter to test the voltage and after removing the float-- the tank must be emptied in this case to remove the float sensor. Before this is removed to confirm , the line to the sensor when disconnected must indicate a Full level. If not the fuel guage must be checked before the float is removed.

Fuel gauge on 2006 camry is below empty even though I'm sure there is more than 1/2 a tank og gas in it.

It is possible that the float guage in the tank has malfunctioned or a wire has come loose. I believe you can access this by removing a plate in the floor under the rear seat.

My fuel guage stays at 3/4 tank no matter how much gas I have. What do I do?

Find the wire on the top of the tank and ground it with a test light, with the key on,if it goes to empty, then unplug it from the tank, the fuel gauge should go to ful,if it does these two things, then it is in the sending unit in the fuel tank.If it does not move, then replace the fuel gauge in the dash,If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Fuel guage & water guage are not working properly the fuel guage reads ful then will go to empty after you drive it for awile - the water guage only goes up to a quater

The gas tank sending unit has a float on it to register the amount of gas in the tank. The float is probably faulty which will cause erratic readings and is a fairly common issue with some GM units. Replacement of the sending unit should resolve that issue. As far as the coolant temperature gauge, it could be a faulty temperature sending unit or a thermostat that is stuck open or someone removed the thermostat. This will cause the engine to never reach operating temperature which in turn makes the engine run rich and can clog cat. converters and destroy some sensors.

Fuel gauge doesn't register correctly

The fuel gauge sending unit is in the fuel tank in a module along with the fuel pump, and float guage. It sends an electronic signal to the fuel guage on your dash. When it becomes worn or the float may even have a leak in it, the unit sends incorrect info to your guage. The solution is to empty your fuel tank, drop it from the vehicle, remove and replace the entire module.

Fuel gage problem

The fuel guage sensor must have gone bad. It is located near the fuel pump in the fuel tank.
