Hi,
No one knows your vehicle sounds, better than you. If you recognize that the sound increases as your speed increases and vice versa... or if there is a bit of a vibration, I would suspect you are correct in that a tire is giving up on you.
I hope this helps... Good luck!

    Hi again,

Thanks for the reply. I thought I might add that possibly since your tire is balding, something may be causing it. If you know a reliable front end shop, it might be good to have the vehicle checked.

Left front tire is bald on left side - other tires look fine. Also, it pulls to the left. Any ideas?

If it pulls to one side or the other, you need an alig nment. If you need a part they will tell you first! God-Bless and hope this helps you.

You should make the front end repairs and then get new tires. An alignment won't help until you replace the bad parts.

I seem to have a growling(noise is whup-whup-whup)-gets worse the faster you go noise coming from the front driver side.I initially thought it was the cv joint, but after replacement the noise is still...

Sounds like a bad hub bearing. If you sway from one side to another the noise should change. If you go left and the noise and the noise is still there then it`s the right side and if you turn right and the noise is still there it is the left side. You may also have both front hub bearings out.Hope this helps.Good luck.

My car makes a bad growling noise. Everyone said that it was a front wheel bearing because that tire was worn down really bad on the outside. I replaced the passenger front wheel bearing, and it is still...

WHEEL BEARING USUALLY STARTS MAKING A ROARING TYPE NOISE WHICH USUALLY GETS LOUDER THE FASTER YOU DRIVE, SOMETIMES THEY WILL BE LOOSE , TO CHECK JACK UP THAT WHEEL AND GRAB TOP AND BOTTOM OF TIRE AND SHAKE, IF THERE IS MOVEMENT, TRY TO GET SOMEONE TO ROCK TIRE FOR YPU AND WATCH WHERE AXLE GOES INTO CENTER OF BEARING AND SEE IF AXLE IS MOVING WITH TIRE MOVEMENT AND SPINDLE REMAINS STATIONARY, THEN IT IS BAD BEARING, OR SOMETIMES THERE WILL BE NO MOVEMENT, THEN BLOCK REAR WHEELS AND RUN CAR WITH THAT WHEEL IN AIR AND SEE IF YOU HEAR NOISE, GOOD LUCK.

My car shakes and jerks to the right. I think i need an alignment. Could bald tires make a car shake and ****?

No, bald tyres can only make the car skid to their side not shake or **** it. It could be brake adjustment gone out too.

Have 99 saturn SL2. car pulls left upon hard braking. replaced right front caliper which I thought was bad but didn't solve the problem. upon loosening of brake hose to right caliper, with a light brake...

Assuming that the Tires for both Left and Right are:
1. Equal Sizes.
2. Both Properly Inflated - this is a common problem.
3. Have equal wear on them. Example: If the Left Tire is balding on the outside and the Right Tire is balding on the inside, this too is definite sign of an aligment issue; and will cause unequal braking.
Pulling left (or right) during a hard brake might actual mean your Wheel Alignment is way off. When you get one, get a 4-wheel and not just a 2-wheel alignment.
Also: you thought the right thing, but the Left Caliper or Left Brake Hose might also be bad (sticking) causing the left side to brake "harder" then the right side.
You can also Bleed the entire System (all four wheels) starting at the Right Rear, then Left Rear, then Front Right, followed by the Left Front.
Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel free to contact me at FixYa.com!

When i put opn the breaks my van shimmeys like

Although "Rotors" would have been a good guess, the wheel bearings, ball joint and tie rods should all have been checked after the wheels were lifted off the ground. Also the Caliper Bolts and/or Bolt Guides should be checked to see if they are warped. Warpage could also cause shuddering.
Is there any shaking while at highway speeds (without the braking)? Then it could be an alignment issue.
A bald tire in the front is not helping matters...it is dangerous and illegal in most states. The small dent in the rim in the back is not safe either. This could lead to a catastrophic tire failure. You can hammer those back a little and make it safer.
Good luck!!

When i make left i gear grinding noise

Front wheel bearings are probobly going bad...they can be pricey so shop around...easy bolt in though...they should be replaced on both sides....there is a saying about how to diagnois which side is bad....get three mechanics to agree which side the noise is coming from....then change the other.....good luck...lee

Front end problems

You seem to have more than one problem, first of all the balding tire you have a negative camber problem that can be adjusted by getting a wheel alignment done. The shaking problem while applying brake could mean that you have bad/warped front rotors. It can also mean bad Tie rods. Lastly it can mean that the front tires needs to be high speed balanced. Good Luck
