How do you replace a brake lamp switch on a 2007 Hyundai Entourage

I hope you have a good back. You can get on your knees and look under the dash and steering column.
Find the gas and brake peddle. Follow up from the bottom of the brake peddle, Look at the back side. The brake peddle bracket depresses a switch( brake lamp switch). it is very simple to remove. As usual with all work...disconnect the negative battery cable. unplug the brake switch. remove the retaining nut (if it has one) and unscrew the switch from the bracket behind the brake peddle bracket. Take note how far it is sticking out for the reinstallation. Replacing it is just as easy

Why won't it start?

There should be a clutch safety switch that prevents you from cranking the engine with the clutch engaged.
Have you checked the switch for power ?

Won,t start after sitting for a short time, but will start fine when cold

Does it crank, yet not start? Or does it not even crank?
If it cranks and doesn't start, you could have a leaky fuel injector. Pull the plugs when this happens, and check them for fuel saturation.

If it doesn't even crank, it could be an intermittent starter.

Entourage wont start until fourth or fifth try. no clicking or cranking. lights on dash all work. happened once yesterday and once today, with plenty of start ups in between

no click? sounds like a faulty starter solenoid or loose connection. clean and retighten battery cables and connections to that solenoid. If that doesn't work, you may need to remove starter and have it tested.

When you say it won't start, do you mean it cranks but won't fire, or it just won't crank? If it just won't crank, you could be having an issue with the starter relay. The often become intermittent before failure. Many owners do not know there is a starter relay because it was added as a recall item i order to protect the iginition switch from burnout. The starter relay is located in the very front of the engine compartment, just to the left of the battery, on the back side of the radiator crossmember.

I believe that there is an electronic relay between the ignition switch and the solenoid on the starter that is causing your intermittent starting problem.
