I have also broke off my 2001 Nissan Quest sliding door handle on the driver side. Also the sliding door cannot be opened from interior... Any help is appreciated... Thanks

The child lock rod may have been extended...
open the driver side door, and with a skinny finger, push that child lock rod back in towards the rear of the sliding door
use the passenger side as reference
once you pushed it in, you can now open it from the inside handle

you need to remove door trim panel for access. Ford has one but you will have to paint it. buy a psray can of paint at an auto astore. paint code on your driver door opening sticker.
quest & villager are same van, built at same plant by Ford, Nissan powertrain.

My driver side sliding door handle broke off. I had locked all the doors since and the lock is jammed. It won't go unlock so I can open it. Really my question is in two parts. How do I get my door unjammed...

open the front door...
now you have to push the locking rod towards the rear so you can open the sliding door from the inside
just follow the B pillar down and use the passenger side as reference of that black rod

you will have to remove the inner door panel, remove screws holding panel,then unhook linkage to handle, next unbolt handle from door and remove, next is to remove lock and install on new handle,now reinstall,hope this helps, im guessing its the outside handle. here a diagram to help you.2662b88.gif

Trim Panel —Sliding Door Removal
  1. Remove the sliding door trim panel finish panel.

  1. Remove the rear sliding door trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-05 .
  1. Position the watershield aside.
  1. If equipped, disconnect the sliding door power door lock actuator electrical connector.

  1. NOTE: Mark the position of the sliding door rear latch cable adjusting bracket before removing the bolt.
  2. Disconnect the sliding door rear latch cable.
  3. Remove the bolt.
  4. Remove the sliding door rear latch cable adjusting bracket from the latch remote control.
  5. Disconnect the sliding door rear latch cable from the latch remote control.

  1. Remove the 4 sliding door front latch bolts.
NOTE: If necessary, transfer parts to the new sliding door latch remote control.
Remove the sliding door latch remote control.
  1. Remove the bolts.
