Dodge dakota backfire

It sounds like you need a good tune-up, such as spark plugs and/or wires. They will act up when cold and when warmed by engine temperature will let the engine run smoothly again. And possibly a distributor cap/rotor.

Wont start but backfires

Almost certainly the engine timing is out by a tooth or 3 on the timing belt. They do slip if worn. Hard starting and backfiring tells the story.

Car continually backfires and has a burnt air filter.

This sounds like a timing problem, depends on which toyota engine it is you could have a timing belt or timing chain. Over time and wear it gets slack in it. I dont recommend this as a do it yourself job as it can get very technical, you might want to contact a mechanic.

1992 Lumina Backfire - I have a 1992 Lumina Euro, 77K miles, 3.1 V-6. Under moderate to hard acceleration the engine will backfire and you can smell gas. The spark control module, coils, wires, plugs,...

I know you mentioned the EGR valve has been replaced, but you may have a bad 'new' part. I know the car is electronic, but has anyone checked its ignition timing (timing belt been looked at, I know it only has 77k on it). Is the fuel pressure regulator OK and it vacumm supply?

1992 f150 back firing throu intake when cracking throttle breifly-soundslike only one cylinder backfire. stock engine-5.8lw(efi) with headers and roller cam, engine recently rebuilt

backfire is the igniting of fuel in the intake. Can be, timing, valves not adjusted right, cam worn flat on one lobe are usually the first places to look.
check it out.

Engine runs at a fast idle. This started after a backfire during a start up;

I would check vaccuum hoses are all connected and unbroken.
Sounds like maybe when it "backfired" it popped a vaccuum line loose.
The way I check for Vaccuum leaks is spray WD-40 the entire length of each hose while it is running, when vaccuum sucks in the WD-40 it will "Rev" the engine some.

1992 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 350 backfiring and headers glowing

You probably have a clogged up exhaust system building backpressure on the engine. Check your mufflers and catalytic convertors if you have them something is restricting the exhaust.

1992 Silverado backfiring through the throttle body

you could put the pickup on a cylinder pressure test and see if you have a bad valve causing the engine to pop.
you could have a bad wire or spark plug.
the timming chain could of went off a cog on the timming sprokets causing to pop.
gettin to much gas could cause it to.
