I have a 1996 Volkswagon Cabrio. I was notified that the back right tail light is burnt out. Can you assist? I would like to try to fix it myself.

If this is helpful, please vote for my answer:
1 Open the trunk and pull up the carpet in the trunk. 2 Remove the screw bolts that hold the trim piece to the back of both of the tail light housings. 3 Remove the trim backings to expose the tail lights. 4 Remove the electrical plug running to the bulb's ballast. Squeeze the top of the connector's release tab and remove the plug. 5 Turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the housing. 6 Remove the screw bolts on the inside of the trunk that hold the tail light housing to the body. 7 Pull the tail light housing off. 8 Replace bulb with same

How do you replace the backup light bulb in a 2000 Lincoln Navigator?

Open the rear hatch. You will see 2 bolts holding the light housing in place, remove these. They are probably 8mm heads on the bolt. Then pull straight out on the light housing. You might need to give it a few open handed smacks on the outside part of the lense to get it out of the clips. Once the housing is out there will be 2 or 3 plugs for the lights, remove the one for the reverse light by turning it counter clockwise. The bulb will pull straight out. Install new bulb and reverse the removal procedure to reinstall.
Good luck

Unscrew the screws that are securing the brake light cover to the body of the Tundra. Pull the brake light cover off the body of the Tundra. Place the screws in the brake light cover and set it on the bed of the truck. Pull the burned-out light bulb out of the light fixture and discard it. Insert the new brake light bulb into the light fixture. Pump the Tundra's brakes to make sure the new bulb is working correctly. Replace the brake light cover on the body of the Tundra and replace the screws.

I just changed my rear turn signal. Really easy. There is two 1/4 inch bolts visible when you open the tailgate. Take both of those out and gently lift the light housing out towards the outside of the vehicle. There is two small clamps on the other side of the fixture that just slide right out when you pull on it. There you go

Cannot replace the tail light (drive side) on my 2000 camry.

Open your trunk, two or three phillips screws, remove them, tail light should pop out with a little persuasion. If you are replacing the bulb just twist the bulb housing and it should pull out easily.
Hope this helps.

Tail light replacement 2005 acura TL

if it's a tail light housing that broke, and not the bulb that simply burnt out, i'm afraid your solution isn't that simple. you have to at least loosen the bumper on the side that the tail light need be replaced. which will include removing the mud flap on that side of the car, removing all the clips on the bottom of the bumper, and removing the two bolts behind the quarter sized plastic covers just inside the trunk lid.

How to access brake tail light to change

Tail light replacement is not as hard as it seems.
Tools needed:flat head screwdriver and a deep 5/32 socket(a pair of pliers will work).
Step 1: open trunk and pull back truck liner at tail light. There is a small button clip on liner.Use screwdriver to pop up the center of button clip, pull clip out of hole.
Step 2:You will see a black wire attached to the body of car with 2 white clips.Use screwdriver to pop clips off of studs.
Step 3:Remove the nuts from the studs and pull tail light assembly straight back away from car.The outer side of the light just snaps in and out of place.
Step 4:Turn light socket counter clockwise 1/3 turn and pull out.
Step 5:Pull bad bulb straight out and replace.Reverse steps to reassemble.

1. open tailgate. 2. remove corner floor piece by lifting. 3. remove corner side panel. pull out from tab on bottom. 4. remove two hex bolts(#10) to release light housing. they look like large allen wrenches. 5. replace bulb(s) and refasten again.
