Question about 2000 Lexus RX 300

Lexus rx300 0171 system too lean already clean mass air sensor and change 2 front sensor but the light still come on,should I change the MAF sensor too?

I would change mass sensor any way they cause lots of problems

Backfire thur throttlebody on heavy accellaration

that means 2 thing, in order. of likely, wow no engine disp. stated !!!
1: cam or spark timing way off (yes, test both)
2: lean burn,

there are simple tests for all .
1: cam timing (look) spark use the timing light see if at spec.
2: use a scan tool are there DTCs set? errors. fix em.
or if no DTC look for lean front oxgyen sensors. showing low voltages.
or LTFT showing way high + levels, (high plus means huge lean corrected)
on heavy Accel the oxy sensors are no used, and only the MAF /MAP
used, (different motor use 1 or the other and you never adentified which)
the Weak maf will under report air, and will go lean if way off.
clean the maf (from 12 inches far)
Mass air flow sensor, got that? part?
or is this the 4liter with MAP? surely i dont know. whats under your hood.

My lexus rx300 2001 is blowing white smoke and reading codes p0171 and p0174

Hi there:
P0171 - System Too Lean (Bank 1)
P0174 - System Too Lean (Bank 2)
Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 1 is the side of the engine that has cylinder #1.

Note: This DTC is very similar to P0174, and in fact your vehicle may show both codes at the same time.

You will more than likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a lack of power, detonation (spark knock), and/or a hesitation/surge on acceleration.

A code P0171 or P0174 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.
There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor.

Possible solutions include:
In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling
Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary
Check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure

I recently had problems with my 2005 Mazda MPV stalling. I came to this great site and changed the IAC and it stopped stalling. But 2 days later my check engine light came on. The codes are P2197 P2195...

The descriptions for your codes are:
P2197 - H02S (RF) signal stuck lean
P2195 - H02S (RF) signal stuck lean
P2187 - Fuel System too lean at idle
P0102 - MAF circuit low input

Essentially what's happening is that your MPV is running too lean when at idle. Too much air and not enough fuel. As you speed up - it forces more air into the system which alleviates the problem.

Examine your mass airflow sensor. It should be completely clean - no fuzzies on it at all. If so - purchase some mass airflow sensor cleaner to clean the sensor. ONLY USE THE PROPER CLEANER TO AVOID DAMAGING THE SENSOR. Disconnect the battery to reset the system and turn off check engine light.

Otherwise you will need a scan tool to look at the voltages being supplied to/from the PCM for each of the Heated Oxygen Sensors and the Mass Airflow Sensor to determine which part is creating the problem.

it means that the O2 sensors in your vehicle detected a lean condition in their respective banks. this could be caused by a dirty MAF (mass air flow) sensor or a vacuum leak downstream from the MAF sensor

sometimes you can clean the MAF with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner but be sure to take it off the vehicle first. be careful not to damage the MAF while spraying the cleaner, and allow it to dry completely before installing it on the vehicle.

ok heres problem 101 is mass air flow sensor 171 running too rich 174 running too lean can find 429 but it the same lines i believe take out your mass air flow sensor and clean it check it connection if comes back on replace the mass air flow sensor

Having problem with check engine light its showing that theirs a lean on bank 2 code P0174/P0171 what would be the cause could it be my cadaylac converter

what this codes indicates is you are running lean on both sides of the motor 171 is right side and 174 is left side.

Lean means either low fuel pressure or big vacuum leak. Since you have no cylinder misfires I would inspect the MAF sensor first. If you installed a K/N filter the oil on it could of contaminated the MAF sensor fine wires. Or you may have a air filter that is clogged.
You can clean the MAF with brake clean being careful not to break the wires.
Or inspect for a large vacuum leak that could affect both sides.
Or if all else fails have the fuel pressure checked.

14.7.1 part air to 1 part fuel is what the computer tries to maintain
.It needs this to get the best bang for the buck

A big vacuum leak or low fuel pressure will change this
If the computer sees a big vacuum leak it will add fuel until it cant anymore. This is when the code sets.
Same thing for low pressure. It will set the code because the engine stays lean for too long.

There is no p01001, it's either p0100, or p0101.
Anyway, it's the mass air flow sensor that's bad. The p0171 and p0174 is a lean condition on bank 1 and bank 2, which are the oxygen sensors. Change the mass air flow sensor and that should take care of the p0171 and 74 codes.
The mass air flow sensor can cause the 02 sensors to read lean.
The u1301, is a class 2 circuit short to battery. That, you have to test wires to find with a voltmeter/continuity tester.
I would try and find that short before changing the flow sensor, you don't need the new one shorting out, they are not that cheap.

there are many different things that can give you a lean fuel mixture. you could have a bad o2 sensor, mass air flow sensor, a plugged fuel filter or dirty air filter. any of these things or combination of can cause thee type codes.

Check Engine light is on my 1997 F150 with a small V-8. The tester returns codes P0171, P0172, P0174 and P0175. What does all this mean?

those codes are for lean engine condition look for vac leaks at the back of engine to the pcv valve could hear hissing noise with engine running also check egr valve to be stuck open also when was last fuel filter changed? hope this helps .
