I removed some of the wireing that looked bad. "The warning bell quit ringing but the TBC Fault light still comes on. I also disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes and the light still comes on.

Hi,

There is a technical bulletin issued for the same. Let me provide you with the details :-

FORD: 2003-2006 F-Super Duty
This article supersedes TSB 05-15-11 to update the illustrations.
ISSUE: Some 2003-2006 F-Super Duty vehicles used for towing may exhibit trailer lamps being inoperative or not working properly. This may be due to an open trailer tow fuse, a concern in the vehicle's wiring, a concern in the trailer's wiring, or the trailer not being wired properly for the vehicle.
ACTION: If the vehicle exhibits an open trailer tow fuse, refer to the following Service Procedure to determine if the open trailer tow fuse concern is caused by the vehicle or the trailer wiring. If the vehicle does not exhibit an open trailer tow fuse, follow normal diagnostics.
SERVICE PROCEDURE

NOTE: FAULTS OR REPAIRS CAUSED BY TRAILER WIRING ARE NOT WARRANTABLE.

NOTE: VEHICLE WIRING MAY DIFFER FROM MODEL-TO-MODEL OR YEAR-TO-YEAR. ENSURE THE TRAILER IS WIRED CORRECTLY FOR THE VEHICLE.

NOTE: ELECTRIC POWER TO EACH TRAILER CIRCUIT IS SUPPLIED THROUGH A RELAY AND DEDICATED FUSE AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1.

    2. If a fuse is found open, proceed to Step 2.
  2. With the ignition key off, use a non-powered test light from battery positive terminal and test Pins 2, 3, and 4 for a short to ground (Figure 2). Pins 2, 3, or 4 must not have continuity to ground (no light). Pin 1 must have good continuity to ground (bright light - same as battery).

Somehow the light is detecting trailer. Either there is a sensor that is bad, or wire shorting. You should check your fuse panel and pull that fuse if you don't use it anyways.

by releasing the park brake you are in fact putting air in the park brake (spring brake diaphragms) that compresses the springs and allows the brakes to release. When you apply the park brake you are in effect dumping the air out of the system and allowing the spring brakes to come on. The light is telling you that there is insufficient air in the park brake circuit to fully release the spring brakes. Some ideas are that the air lines on the trailer are opposite to the prime mover(tractor), there is a kink in the air lines in the trailer , the air tank that holds emergency air for the spring brakes system has an internal leak in a valve between chambers or externally between air tanks. I would make very sure that I fixed this problem before I travelled as the consequences of a trailer wheel lock up at speed could have very serious results.

2011 tiguan trailer warning light comes on whenever any trailer is connected

Very first thing you should have done is to check the ground between the vehicle frame and trailer frame. That's the only thing that can be causing this problem. Be SURE the grounds are connected very well. I've found the ground to be the only problem in these situations every time. Can't be anything else, it's all good.

Abs warning light on after trailer with bad electrics was attached

Check your brake lights and see if they are working. there may be a blown fuse. Also make sure that your trailer hook-up on your car is not causing the barke lights to stay on all the time.

If this does not find the problem, your ABS light being on may not have anything to do with the trailer being hooked up. You will have to scan your ABS module to find out why it has turned the light on.

I have an Intergrated brake controller, i warning comes up trailer disonnected and sometimes TBC fault, no trailer hooked up , happens when i hit a bump, or hit the dashs. Please

TBC is trailer brake control. If it says there is a fault then i would say you have one of two issues. Either the controller is faulty or you have wires grounding out to the brake control wire going to the rear of the truck for your plug.

You likely need diode isolators on the turn signal wiring on the trailer, or on vehicle side connector. Your local auto parts store should have what you need, and show you how to install them.

Need wirering diagram to hook up trailer lights and elecric break

Also try http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx. They have a great website with lots of info. With the tow package, there should be a plug under the dash... far left above the emerg. brake petal. The harness that plugs into it should have came with the truck, or you can order one to fit it. Did thew truck come with a 7 pin plug on the back? If not you can order one from the above mentioned site. They also have the wiring colors.

You might have cut a wire or it could have broken or disconnected. Try tracing the wiring where you hooked up the trailer you may find one broken or disconnected.
