Yes, you can but the vehicle is more prone to overheating or overcooling and the electronics sensing coolant temp may affect performance. But!!! It can be driven.

You can drive the vehicle without the thermostat but in cooler weather you will have problems. The computer wants to see 195 degrees or more to allow the engine to run at peak performance. Without a thermostat you will be running cooler and the computer will overfuel the engine because it thinks it is cold. You could have some trans shifting and torque converter clutch problems also.

95 acura legend, if I install a air separator tank thru the bleeder valve to relieve the trap air ,will it affect the thermostat operation?

Let me guess. Some mechanic told you to do this to your Legend? :-)
Do not do this (if it's even possible)

The simplest thing you need to do for the Acura Legend is to bleed the coolant system to get rid of the trapped air.

Where is the thermostat located on a 1994 acura legend

Hi:
The thermostat is located under the thermostat housing, which is on the engine, and what the upper radiator hose connects to. To remove the thermostat, you should : 1) start with a cool engine, 2) drain the coolant 3) disconnect upper radiator hose 4) unbolt thermostat housing. To install, reverse the process, but make sure you have a new gasket for the housing, and clean up the mating surfaces on both the housing and the engine.

How do change a Thermostat for a 91 Acura Legend

  1. Drain the cooling system and remove the lower radiator hose from the thermostat housing.
  2. Remove the thermostat housing bolts, the housing and the thermostat.
  3. Clean the gasket mounting surfaces.
  4. To install, use new gaskets and reverse the removal procedures; install the thermostat's spring end toward the engine. Torque the housing bolts to 9 ft. lbs. (12 Nm).
  5. Refill and bleed the cooling system.

Where is the thermostat located in a 1990 acura legend? The engine overheats when it is running down the road and cools when the car is stopped. can anyone help?

Follow the upper radiator hose and where it is attached to engine block, that is where the thermostat housing is. SHould have 3 bolts on it.

1993 Acura Legend Overheating.

This could happen if your fan is indeed weak.  To test disconnect the thermostat of the radiator by removing the terminals near the radiator hose towards the engine.  You should see the fan run at its highest speed, then you can check if your fan has weakened.

I have a 1992 acura legend. i change the main relay. i am still have the same problem with starting. what else can it be?

Sorry, if it wasn't the relay. I had AAA say it was the fuel pump and had replaced it and the filter before finding the pump wasn't getting powered up. If there is a bad ground (it was a wire bolted to the thermostat housing on the Cl) you will have to go thru them one by one. Fuel pressure is harder to verify without guages-are the injectors ticking?
