Question about 1992 Cadillac Eldorado
I have a 1992 Cadillac Eldorado 4.9L, It's been sitting for a while (almost 2 years) and once I charged the battery again the engine doesn't turn over, the fuses, wires, and security chip are fine, but all it seems to do is click and try, I mainly work with electrical components in cars, but i'd guess it's froze up from sitting all winter. Can anyone help?
Take plugs out pour oil into clynders and turn by socket and breakerbar on right side of auto after you take wheel off. turn with plugs off. it should turn freely once that oil get into the clynders if it turns great! Change oil. If not you might have frozen crank or something happened when it was parked for a reason. Good luck.

Have you tried to turn the engine manually?usinf a socket on the harmonic balance bolt?If you do,turn it clockwise only.Check,or have the battery checked with the load test, make sure it is up to the task. Also cable ends clean and shiney,as well as battery post, shiney,no gray,or black on the post,or the cable ends, these act as insulaters between the battery and cable ends.If the engine turns(clockwise)by hand, then it is not locked up.If the cleaning of battery and cable ends doesn`t help, and the battery checks out good, check the ground to block connection, take it off,and clean, and replace. If that doesn`t do it,replace the starter. You can jump the starter from the small terminal,to the large(hot) post on the starter.I hope this helps. If not let me know.

How old is the battery? I'm guessing it's the battery that sat in the car for 2 years. Check the connections for corrosion and make sure they are tight. Pull the battery out and have a parts store check it's condition (free service ). You are going to have other issues after getting any battery problems resolved. Gas goes bad quickly these days, and you will probably need to clean injectors, drain the tank, etc, also brakes may drag, due to corrosion from sitting. Good luck.
