There is usually a dimmer switch for the dash lights near the left side of the dash behind the steering wheel. Sometimes that can get bumped when you get in the car and turn the dash lights completely off.
Is it a digital tuning? If it is does it auto search but just not find any stations? If this is the case then as J.D.Browning suggested it is an aerial problem! You said there are 2 aerials.....how are they connected to the radio?
well your in luck i just removed mine today lol. there are 5 1/4 inch screws on the bottom side of the dash on the passenger side of the car remove them pull the plastic cover down and disconnect the light mounted on the piecce you just removed next make sure your battery is disconnected cause it may fry it if power is connected. Next you will need a 10mm look straight up you will see the box it is aluminum with 2 wire harness attached. There is a metal clip holding it attached pull it back and un hook the harness then it will slide right out.
