Buy a replacement starter, follow the enclosed instructions. save your old starter for a deposit refund.
If you have the 6 cyl model the job is just a little bit harder since you have to loosen the battery container and move it aside a little to reach the 2 bolts holding the starter.

need to make sure wireing is correct first .if so get a test light and find the small wire going to solenoid on starter,have some one turn key test light should illuminate.if not check fuses,if so starter is bad.also big red wire to solenoid will be hot all the time.

It could be your starter going bad. The added boost from the jumpstart may give it enough cranking amps to overcome the starter failure for a short time.

If you can turn the engine by hand, your starter has gone bad. Cables get hot because energy normally used to turn starter cannot and has to go somewhere! If you can't turn by hand, it's possible engine is seized.

Replacing outer cv boot

go get a univeral boot at the store, cut the old one off with a knife, and use pliers to remove the band, and put the new ones on.
