The most likely cause is the wiper motor, it contains the park switch necessary for the wipers to "park" in the correct position.

Wipers won't go home

Did the wipers stop in the up position? If so it may be a blown fuse or a defective wiper motor. Have you looked at the fuse-box? Did you mean that the wipers swipe the windshield correctly and then when the wipers shut off they stop in the wrong position. If this applies then inspect the wiper transmission. There could be worn/loose linkage between the wiper motor and the wiper arms. Also if the wiper motor was just installed. The clock position may be wrong. Please let me know if this information helps. If not please write back, leave more details, and I'll do my best, good luck.

Windshield wipers stop working

At the base of the wiper arm there is a plastic cap,pop this off ,underneath there is a nut that holds the arm in place ,if it gets loose the post will turn inside the blade.Just turn the wipers off and tighten the nuts with the blade in the parked position.

simple actually- 1- on wiper arms- flip up cap on end- remove nut, 2 using a screw driver and small wood block lift arms off driver screw.3 turn key on cycle wipers- turn off 4- reattach arms in correct position and retighten-., test with arms up- not on glass- is still wrong- the link from wiper motor to cross arm wrong- - buy a HAYES repair manual- will show how to remove cowl cover yourself- is easy , then follow instuctions in manual to correct link

When i turn the wipers off they stop in the wrong position

Usually you can set your wipers to the correct position while they are turned off. There should be a knurled nut or some other assembly at the bottom of the wiper arm where it connects to your car. You should be able to loosen that up, then put your wiper arms where you want them to be, then tighten the nut back up and then check to see if your wipers sweep and sit like they should.

I would go with a bad wiper module, not the motor or column switch.
There is a module for the variable speed somewhere,I would guess under the dash.
Ask a dealer where it is and replace yourself
