After three attempts,05 Grand Cherokee started and died immediate

what dont work?
the door alarms?
or car wont start? or dies in 3 seconds.
or radio/nav dead?

thee are 3 or 4 things, all called antithieft.

the FOB battery only effects door locks and not RF ID side.

Lock and unlock the doors with the key fob three times t hen jump in quick and try to start within 15secs or so and it should go failing which call the dealer

Inset the key into the driver door and turn to unlock position three times to disengage alarm system without remote. Do the same in lock position for setting alarm without key fob.

try locking and unlocking the vehicle three times in sucession with the remote fob and see what happens

try putting your key in the passenger side door , lock and unlock the door manually , then try starting it usually if the battery dies it will cause the jeep to go into security mode . when you try this have the jeep hooked up to a battery charger in case the battery is dead . good luck

The key fobs have failed take to the dealer they would have to replace the key fobs don't try to start it more then 3 time or it will lock out for 1 hour.

try unlocking the drivers door with the key, if that doesn't work try locking the doors and unlocking the rear hatch with the key

sounds like the ignition switch was changed,call the dealership w/the vin # and they should be able to cut you an oe key. If its too old by vin you will have to go to a locksmith which should cost about $40.00 depending on locale

did you try calling a dealer sometimes they are the only ones that can reprogrm these things

The ignition security on/off is located at the trunk lock. unlock and lock rear gate and the alarm will turn off. My jeep sat in my drive for a month before a jeep tech told me this. It still triggers the security sometimes when I unlock the passenger door with the key and I go straight to the rear gate lock and it shuts off instantly.
