Question about 1965 Ford Mustang
I puled off my old alternator of off 1965 Ford Mustang V8 289 and forgot to put indicators on the wires i have 5 total: two seem like grounds black with red tracer one of them came from where the top bolt it, is the largest wire then a smaller one that i connected to it. then i have a yellow, white and a black with yellow tracer. Then the prongs on alternator are labeled starter, batter, F terminal, and ground
The white with the black is the (stator) or S terminal, the larger thickness wire is the battery wire,(don't touch any body parts or engine,it will short out and you will have other problems. And the red or orange is the field (F terminal) unless someone has replaced the wiring

So, you have an integral regulator on your alternator.... so you have to connect the output of the regulator to your battery. You also have to connect between the regulator and the alternator. Hmmmmm how to describe....
using your descriptions of wires and prongs.....
Connect Wire Color to Prong
Yellow (w/wht dot) A+
White (w/blk tracer) STA
Black (w/orange tracer) Bat (alt output)
Ground wire Grd
Orange (w/Lt.Blue) F (field)
If battery was connected, the Black with orange tracer wire would have +12 Volts on it at all times
