Question about 2001 Cadillac DeVille
I was wondering does the computer shut down, to protect the engine
I have never heard of something such as a vehicle computer shutting down due to an overheating condition. If the engine is simply shutting down, you may be seeing a different problem. Most vehicle computers, even despite a fault somewhere, will try their best to "limp" the vehicle home.
I hope this helps to answer your question! :)
