Hi Jess,

Black smoke is unburnt fuel. You've probably noticed a loss of power also.

Check your plugs and wires. I'm guessing one of the cylinders is not firing

Best regards,
Mike

The smoke is probably a black smoke from burning excessive fuel. That fuel injection system has seperate plastic runners going to each cylinder inside the intake manifold, I think it was nick-named the spider, they go bad and need to be replaced. Problem could also be the fuel pressure regulator, I think it's also under the intake manifold. The bottom line is that you have to remove the intake and look for your problem.

1999 gmc youkon missing real bad lots of white smoke smells like straight gas done complete tune up nothing changes help

White smoke would indicate you're burning engine coolant. Black smoke is usually raw unburned fuel, and bluish smoke is oil. Has the engine overheated recently? Is it losing coolant without any external signs of a coolant leak? You may want to do a block check to see if you have a blown head gasket....

New fuel pump, new cap, plugs and wires, clean air filter. My 98 Jimmy sounds like its missing, it boughs down. Mass air flow regulator? Fuel regulator? Also using a lot of gas lately.

You are right, all of the symptoms are pointing to a fuel pressure regulator. Also try inspecting your vacuum line going to your fuel pressure regulator.

I found a 98 jimmy for $1600 its got 175,000 miles tho any kind of on going problems with a 98 with this kind of mileage? cuz i got burned with a 98 blazer, had problems with everything from transfer case...

Its the same thing except it says GMC on the front. The most common issues with either of them is ABS problems, wheel bearings, ball joints, intake gaskets, plugged heater cores, injector issues, fuel pressure regulators, fuel pumps, catalytic converters, wiper motors, window motors, 4x4 issues, and the list goes on.

2000 gmc jimmy, engine shut off while drving and would not restart. Checked fuel pump and pressure, found fuel filter to be clogged. Replaced fuel filter and started vehicle. Problem now is that vehicle...

No,it sounds like coolant burning inside the engine combustion chambers. This explains the sputtering and power loss.most likely cause is a blown head gasket or severe overheating.Check the condition of the oil and make sure their is not antifreeze in the oil. Also check the coolant level.this will help to identify an internal engine concern.Dont think the fuel filter going out is related though. Hope this information helps,

Why does my honda accord smoke reel bad

This is either worn valve stem seals or worn out oil rings. Have someone follow you if the car smokes more as you release the throttle on deceleration it is most likely valve stem seal if it smokes more on acceleration it is worn oil piston rings. If the smoke is white you have a blown head gasket blue smoke means burning oil, black smoke means too rich (to much gas reaching motor)

Burn excessive gas

I have had this issue. You may have noticed black smoke coming from your tailpipe when you step on it as well. There are two oxegen censors on your exhaust likley under the passenger side of the car close to where the passenger seat is. These will likely need to be replaced. Sometimes you get a check engine light as well when they are bad.

The second hing is to check your filler tube as it may have a seperation and the fumes are coming from there and you can also be leaking fule from the same location.
